The hissing sound from the waterfalls of Ssezibwa gives you a memorable experience that you can never forget. Ssezibwa falls is located in mukono district, 37kms along Kampala jinja highway situated on the Ssezibwa River which flows from the wetlands between lakes Kyoga and Victoria in Buikwe district northwards through mukono district into Lake Kyoga in kayunga. The falls emerge from the rocky grounds pouring into a big oasis water collection surface before draining the Ssezibwa River.

It is believed to have been born by a woman named Nakungu of Ekibe clan (wolf) who gave birth to twins which split into two distant streams known as ssezibwa and mubeya with their twin names as Kato and waswa respectively as it is in Buganda. Ssezibwa is a local idiom meaning something endless. Ssezibwa was highly respected by kabaka Mwaga11 and Muteesa11 and as a sign of respect each one planted a giant tree to demonstrate their respect and high esteem for Ssezibwa.

Attractions in Ssezibwa include different bird species, snakes, the falls, rocky stones, butterflies, red tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys, velvet monkeys different plant species and many others. Activities that take place at Ssezibwa include canoeing and boat drive, calving, butterfly and bird watching.
