The New Acropolis Museum ranks in third place worldwide, a fantastic museum that has been conceived to offer pleasure to the visitor together with education.
The exhibits come from the top classical monument in the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE list, the Acropolis of Athens.
The Parthenon Gallery offers eye contact with the actual monument, 300 m away, including the most prominent frieze of antiquity, the so called Parthenon Marbles.
The Caryatids which are statues of beautiful maidens beyond description. It is rather interesting that the excavation below ground level continues at the museum and this is visible through the ground level glass flooring.
There is a panoramic restaurant with a unique view of the Acropolis that remains open till midnight on Fridays.
