The Itinerary Highlights


Route: Accra (Ghana) > Lomé (Togo) > Ouidah (Benin) > Lagos (Nigeria).


Day 1: Departure from Accra (The Starting Point)


Morning departure heading East. We stop at the Ada Foah estuary where the Volta River meets the Atlantic.

We will be discussing the importance of water in African spirituality and purification.

Cross into Togo at the Aflao border. Overnight in Lomé.


Day 2: Voodoo & Royalty (Togo to Benin)


We will visit the Akodessewa Fetish Market in Lomé—the world's largest voodoo market.

Boat trip to Togoville, where the 1884 treaty was signed.

Cross into Benin Republic. Overnight in Ouidah.


Day 3: The Spiritual Capital (Ouidah)


We will walk the Route des Esclaves to the Gate of No Return.

We will visit the Temple of Pythons and the Sacred Forest of Kpasse.

We will be exploring the resilience of faith (Voodoo) despite the trauma of the slave trade.


Day 4: The Seme Border to the Big Smoke (Nigeria)


Cross to the Seme Border.

Stop in Badagry (Nigeria) to visit the Heritage Museum and the "Point of No Return" on the Gberefu Island.

Evening arrival in the high-energy city of Lagos.


Day 5: Lagos – The Modern Giant


We will visit the Nike Art Gallery (the largest in West Africa) and the Lekki Conservation Centre.

Experience the hustle of Lagos Island and the history of Freedom Park (a former colonial prison turned into a cultural center).
