Kloof Corner Ridge

“The walk starts near the lower cable car station and leads the hikers’ up steps on a jagged trail towards the cliffs that rise in the distance. The path is bordered on one side and the other by rich vegetation,  giving an insight into the Western Cape flora. The scenic walk offers during the entire ascent superb views over the city, guarded by Lion's Head. Not being one of the most popular routes up the mountain, it offers you the possibility to get lost in the tranquillity of the nature and in the vivid colours that characterize the South African landscape. The chains and scrambling portions are balanced interspersed with short hiking trails, providing frequent resting opportunities. The scrambling itself will not only bring you a sense of adventure and        personal satisfaction gained in achieving new limits, but will continually open new and breath taking views. The entire route is a game of hide and seek, storing behind each corner of the path and behind each rock a great surprise. Thus it is not only recommended for the adventurers or experienced hikers, but for any lovers of nature and of challenges. The final part of the route is a smooth walk on the western slope, leading to the upper cable car station, bringing the picturesque travel to an end with some final awesome views of the City of Cape Town with the ocean stretching in the distance and with the range of the Twelve Apostles descending into Camps Bay. If you are lucky, you can see formations of clouds floating at your feet or catch the sun while it is slowly setting into the ocean.”
