The Restinga of Marambaia has a length of approximately 42 km, is separated from the mainland by the Channel Cod in Barra de Guaratiba (Rio de Janeiro). The Marambaia Island, is not, in fact, a island surrounded by water on all sides, but receives this designation, given the size of the elevations rising in the far west, at the end of the long sandbank. Its highest peak is Pico da Marambaia with 647 meters high. Its vegetation meets one of the last Atlantic Forest reserves in southeastern Brazil, large areas of salt marshes (including beaches and dunes) and mangroves, as associated ecosystems.

It's a fantastic place to practice Stand Up Paddle through its mangroves bound for lush beach Marambaia. The place has excellent infrastructure, where you can rent a board or kayak and go this is one of Rio's most beautiful places. You can also relax and wait a wonderful sunset.

When the hungry, your option will be a snack and natural juices or go to one of the nearby restaurants and enjoy seafood.
