This is the list of Waterfalls in Sri Lanka:


1. ලක්ශපාන ඇල්ල  (Laxapana Falls)

Laxapana Falls is 126 m (413 ft) high, the 8th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, and the 625th highest waterfall in the world. It is situated in the Maskeliya area.

2. බේකර්ස් ඇල්ල  (Bakers Falls)

Baker's fall is a famous waterfall in Sri Lanka. It is located in the Horton Plains National Park, on a tributary of the Belihul Oya. Total height: 20 meters (66 ft)

3. බෝඹුරු ඇල්ල (Bomburu Ella Waterfall)

Bomburu Ella Falls (also known as Perawella Falls) is a collection of about 10 little-known jungle waterfalls between 1500 and 2000m.

4. රාවණා ඇල්ල  (Rawana Falls)

TheRavanaEllaFallsare the widestfallsof Sri Lanka. Located near the Wellawaya- Ella Road, these 30 feet high falls can be seen from the main road.

5. බෝපත් ඇල්ල  (Bopath Falls)

This waterfall is also identified as one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Sri Lanka. Since the shape of the cascade is similar to a 'Bo' leave (Ficus Religiosa), the fall has given its name. It is formed with Kuruganga River originated from Samanala Kanda (Adam's peak) range of mountains.

6. නක්කාවිට ඇල්ල  (Nakkawita Ella Falls)

Nakkavita Ella Falls on Mahagal Oya (river) flows over a stone slab on the western slope of the 718 m (2,356 ft) high Higurangala Mountain. The height of the Nakkavita Ella waterfall is 100 m (328 ft).

7. දුන්හිඳ ඇල්ල  (Dunhinda Falls)

Dunhinda Falls is a majestic waterfall situated about 5 km from Badulla. Due to its smoky water drops spray, it is also named the "Bridal Fall", and another reason to get this name is that the waterfall's shape is like a bridal veil. In the Sinhala language, "Dun" stands for smoke and "hinda" stands for evaporating. This is a mighty cascade that falls to a pristine natural pool that is situated below. It is 63 meters in height and is a little heaven on earth.

8. ගැරඬි ඇල්ල  (Gerandi Ella Falls) 

There are a number of narrow and long waterfalls in Sri Lanka by the name of Garandi Ella, which means Rat Snake Waterfall. The resemblance of these waterfalls to slithering rat snakes has given rise to many waterfalls being called by this name. The most popular and well known is the Gerandi Ella (aka Gerandigini Ella) in the Tawalantanna area.

9.බඹරකන්ද ඇල්ල  (Bambarakanda Falls)

Bambarakanda Fallsis the tallest waterfall in Sri Lanka. With a height of 263 m (863 ft), it ranks as the 461st highest waterfall globally.


10.මාපලාන ඇල්ල  (Mapalana Ella Falls)

Situated amongst medicinal herbs, the 141 m highMapalana Ella (also known as Mapanana Ella) fall consists of three sections and is served by a stream (Minuwan Dola? Heen Ella Dola? ) which originates from the Thoranabandigala (or Kondagala?) in the Samanala mountain range. This stream joins Kalu Ganaga River further down. During the rainy season, simultaneous flows can be heard from 6km away.


11.හුළුගඟ ඇල්ල  (Huluganga Ella Waterfall)

Huluganga Ella Falls (75m in height) is one of many cascades created by the stream originating from the Knuckles mountain range. The cascading water sprinkles the villages of Elliyadda and Aratthana before flowing to the Victoria Reservoir. It is popular with both local and foreign visitors, and villagers regard it as part of their Dumbara heritage.


12. කඩියන්ලෙන දිය ඇල්ල  (Kadiyanlena Falls)

The name 'Kadiyanlena Ella' came to this waterfall with the past legend called 'Broken Falls'. In fact, the name is apt for this waterfall. That is to say. This waterfall falls into three parts. Two sections of it break up at the top of the main road and the other at the bottom. Height in Kadiyanlena Falls:25m (82 f)


13. දියලුම ඇල්ල  (Diyaluma Falls)

Diyaluma Falls is 220m (720ft) high, the second-highest waterfall in Sri Lanka, and the 361st highest waterfall in the world. It is situated 6km (3.7mi) away from Koslanda in Badulla DistrictonColombo-Badullahighway. The Falls are formed by Punagala Oya, a tributary of Kuda Oya, which in turn, is a tributary of Kirindi Oya.


14. අසුපිනි ඇල්ල  (Asupini Ella Falls)

Asupini Ellaalso sometimes referred to asAhupini Ella(Sinhala:අසුපිනි ඇල්ල/අහුපිනි ඇල්ල))is a waterfall which is located at Ganga Ihala Koralaya, Rakshawa inAranayaka,KegalleofSabaragamuwa Province.The waterfall was named after a famous ancient fairytale story. It forms part of Maha Oya, and it is considered one of the tourist destination sites in Sri Lanka. Asupini is derived from 'Aswaya' (Horse) and 'Pini' or 'Panina' (Jump), which combined means "the horses jumped over the falls".


15. දූවිලි ඇල්ල  (Duwili Ella Waterfall)

Duwili EllaorWalawe Ganga East Falls(Sinhala: දූවිලි ඇල්ල) is a waterfall in Ratnapura District, Sri Lanka. It is located in Thanjantenna village, which is about 4km (2.5mi) away fromBalangoda.The height of the waterfalls is about 40m (130ft). The name 'Duwili' is derived from the Sinhalese for dust, which describes the spray emanating from the waterfall.
