If you are a fan of natural perfumes, then the city of Taif in western Saudi Arabia will be your first destination, or at least you will be keen to acquire its product from the sectarian rose, which is the most expensive in the world.

Taif has long been known to be one of the most suitable environments for the Damascene Jori plant, the origin of the sectarian rose, with the testimony of experts from France, the "Kingdom of Perfumes" around the world. They are keen to periodically come to the city of Taif to recycle this type of rose.

A number of European tourists interested in roses, diplomats and representatives of Western countries also visit the rose factories and farms annually in the flower season, and learn about the method of picking, distilling and extracting fat and water from it, enjoying its fragrant mood in the coolness of the climate and the mountainous nature.

Although this type of rose originates in the region for centuries, Taif is not its original homeland, but rather a Damascene rose called the “Damascene Gory”, which the Turks brought about 500 years ago to the Hijaz region that includes Makkah, Medina, Taif and Jeddah, but the soil of Taif was from the best environments that were suitable for the “Damascene Jori”, even more than the Turkish soil, as evidence that sectarian roses are sold three times the price of the Turkish rose, with a difference between them that reaches up to 1200 Saudi riyals ($ 320).
