1. City Lounge
This contemporary art/ Central Europe inspired restaurant doesn’t only serve good food, it’s also a great place to have a drink. The ‘City Lounge’ is spread over 2 floors and gives you a view of St George’s Square and the Grandmaster’s Palace. Have a glass of wine at the bar or get a bird’s eye view over what’s happening on the streets, while you figure out where to go next. While the view of Valletta is square, it's one of the places where to enjoy a glass of wine in Valletta.
2. Trabuxu
One of the famous places where to enjoy a glass of wine in Valletta, it might be good to book a table in advance. Especially, if you are planning on visiting during the weekend. Don’t worry if you are a holiday-maker or new to the island, the welcoming staff and the atmosphere will instantly make you feel like you are one of the locals. Choose a good wine, and maybe even a cheese board or some meat and salami to go with it.
3.Gugar
If you want a quiet place to sip on a glass of wine, this is the place to go. This bar/ café with its funky but cozy décor is different from other places in Valletta. It is an amazing hangout place you can take your colleagues for ‘After work’ drink. If you are hungry, you can also order something from the tasty menu. On a sunny day, you can choose a table outside to enjoy the weather.
4. Loop bar
This bar is inspired by Italian, American and British styles. Enjoy a glass or maybe even a bottle of wine inside the vintage themed bar, or sit outside on the not so busy street. Great atmosphere and delicious food and drinks come together in this colorful place.
5. Maori
This bar’s name inspired by the shipwreck ‘HMS Maori’, which sunk just a stone throw away. Located right next to the sea and filled with artworks from various Maltese artists. If you are an art lover or not, this is still a perfect place for having a glass of wine while relaxing. If you are walking by the bar, it is impossible to miss the painted motives on the walls, consisting of for example a big cat and an illustration of the shipwreck earlier mentioned.
6. QE2 Wine Bar
If you want to enjoy a good bottle of wine with a view worth its weight in gold of the Grand Harbour then this place is a must!
