Moreover, 101 ethnic groups and their hundreds of own local dialogue with many historical monuments makes Nepal cultural diversity country itself.

Nepal has the highest peak in the world Mt. Everest, and it was mountain climber attempting to conquer the top of the world that were amongst the first tourists to enter Nepal. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgery Sherpa made first Everest attempt in 1953. Most of the major peaks of Nepal were climbed in the fifties and the sixties but Himalayan mountaineering has lost none of its appeal.

Well, there are many reasons to visit Nepal among them bellow are the most important reasons for travelling Nepal.

  1. Trekking
Nepal is a country of spectacular beauty and is recognized as a top trekking destination in the world. A trek in Nepal is a unique and unforgettable experience in Himalaya region. Trekking-hiking along the trails that forms the main links between Nepal’s isolated villages and settlements – is one of the country’s main attractions. The word trekking was almost unheard of in Nepal until the sixties but many of today’s visitors come to Nepal solely to trek.  According the statistic of Nepal government 60% visitors come to Nepal for trek which means Nepal is one of the popular trekking destination in the world.

  2. Scenery
Eight out of ten highest mountains in the world are in Nepal and if you want to see these for close up you must walk. While trekking you see far more than the mountains- you can walk from the tropical low lands to alpine meadows and glacial moraines while in the spring Nepal’s brilliant rhododendrons will be in bloom and you may see rare species of birds

  3. Cultural Diversity
Nepal is a country of contrasts and this extends to the people as well as landscape. Trekkers pass through picturesque villages inhabited by Sherpas, Magars, Gurungs and Tamangs in the highlands and Brahmins, Chhetris and Newars in the lower altitudes. These are among the many ethnic groups which exist in Nepal.

  4. Safety
The short answer is yes, it is very safe in fact. Nepal feels safer than most other countries around the globe, possibly due to the religious nature of the people and their natural kindness.  Over the past 10 years Nepal has enjoyed a growing fascination to visit from travellers from all over the world.  The People are very hospitable. The Nepalese accept that tourism is a mainstay of the economy, and are very welcoming. So not only is scenery interesting and ever changing but also it can be seen in relative safety. Theft, robbery and assaults all the problems of western civilization and many Asian countries are still relatively unknown in Nepal.

When to trek
The best trekking season is in October and November just after the monsoon: visibility will be clear and the weather mild. March is the next best season and has the added bonus of the rhododendrons and other flowers. Trekking can be done during December, January and February but it can get very cold particularly at night at higher altitudes. April and May are good months for high altitude treks. Trekking is not advisable between mid-June and early September when the monsoon rains make the trail slippery and leeches come out to make walking miserable. Some travelers do trek it even at this season. During monsoon time it does not mean that it will rain every day.  Besides, some of the most frequented trails will not be crowded and some people like it that way. It can actually be enjoyed in the Upper part of Annapurna and Dolpo area as the monsoon does not get in this Trans-Himalayan area. Upper mustang, Upper dolpo trekking can do in this monsoon season.

Height
Trekking is not mountaineering but it is as well to remember that the Himalayas begin where other mountains finish. Average trek will oscillate between 1000 meters to 3000 meters but the trek to Everest Base Camp will reach 5600meters. Most of the time you will remain within the altitude range 1500 to 2000 meters. It is important to remember that 4000 meters in Nepal is not the same as in Europe or North America as the country is much closer to the Equator.

Equipments
If you do not already have good equipment, it can be bought or rented from trekking shops in Nepal. The equipment is often top quality. Although daily rental charges are reasonable a large deposit may be required. A good down filled sleeping bag, down jacket, a rucksack, down pants, sun block cream, fleece jacket, pairs of good hiking shoes, sandal, dry towel, hiking stick, sun glass, glove, toiletries, warm inner cloths, thick shocks and water purification tablet is highly recommended during the trek.

Health
A very little medical care along the trail is available, so make sure you are physically fit and healthy before departing. Certain treks are more difficult than other. You have to be in excellent shape before planning to visit remote area of Nepal such as Upper Dolpo, Mustang, Kanchejungha, Rolwaling, Makalu and Arun valley area. Whereas trekking around Pokhara and Kathmandu is relatively easy. As passes as high as 5400m have to be crossed on certain treks (such as the most popular Annapurna circuit and Everest base camp trek), hypersensitive persons should take care. If you have travel insurance then helicopter rescue services are available in case of emergency in any trekking areas of Nepal.
