Lisbon is the only European Capital that affords white sand beaches and several surf spots at about 10-minute drive from the city center. During the summer the air temperature stays around 30 degrees Celsius and during the winter not less than 15 degrees. In the winter, seawater tends to be warmer than in the summer.

South of Lisbon, where the Tejo River flows into the Atlantic Ocean, Costa da Caparica is located. It is a place of a unique natural heritage, inserted in the Protected Landscape of the Fossil Cliff of Caparica.

Carved by the waves' fury and the various erosion elements, this coastline receives swells of all kinds. It is a consistent surf area, offering multiple waves for all surfing experience levels, from beginners to advanced surfers searching for perfect waves.

South of Costa da Caparica, Arrábida Mountain is one of the most beautiful and significant Mediterranean natural areas. It has a remarkable landscape with immense biodiversity in terms of its marine ecosystem. The Arrábida Mountain has some of the most beautiful high coastal cliffs by a calm and crystal blue sea. It is a place of high contrasts, with a vibrant geological, ecological and cultural heritage linked with agriculture, fishing and cuisine. Arrábida is a magical place of sea, sky, and mountain candidate as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
