Lahu Minority
Mainly in Meng’ Ar and Mengman of Menghai, with population of 55 thousand, is consisted of 3 branches respectively Black Lahu, White Lahu, and Yellow Lahu in accordance with their dialects and traditions.In Xishuangbanna Lahu people mainly belong to Black Lahu Branch. They follow the very old customs of having woman’s hair shaved after her marriage. Lahu people evolved from Qiang. (a normadic tribe). They believe in Animism.
