Ksar Ait Benhaddou Ouarzazate is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's a striking example of the architecture of southern Morocco. A group of earthen buildings surrounded by high walls. The houses crowd together within the defensive walls. The Berbers used corner towers in order to reinforce the walls. It’s a traditional mud-brick city, in the high Atlas Mountains. It has been featured in so many famous movies. Most notably, it’s was a set for the scene of both movies, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator.

Compared to other ksour of the region, the Ksar Ait Benhaddou Ouarzazate has preserved its architectural authenticity. In terms of form and materials, they have made a good job in preserving its architectural style. And the earth constructions adapt perfectly to the climatic conditions. As well as harmonize with the natural and social environment.
