Introduction

Kathmandu is the capital city of Nepal.  It is considered as the center point of culture, History and different races of individuals living respectively. It is a gateway to Nepal. It has a glorious history going back two thousand years. the city is a refined culture that ranks among the highest in Asia.  There is 4 UNESCO world heritage site in Kathmandu all of this place have their own importance. They are as follows.


  • Kathmandu Durbar square: It is a historical palace of King and there are religious Hindu monuments as well. Kathmandu Durbar square lies in the center of Kathmandu city. There are many temples as well as the old royal palace of Nepal. The former ruler of Kathmandu used this palace. There are many temples such as Taleju temple, Kasthamandap temple. City name Kathmandu is from Kasthamandap temple which is here. In Sanskrit language, Kastha means “wood” and mandap means “covered shelter”. The temple is made from the single tree without using any iron nails. the most important thing here you can see a living goddess. Every day at 4:00 PM She gives a blessing to visitors. you can see wooden architecture here. 

  • Pashupatinath temple: Pashupatinath temple one of UNESCO world heritage site. It is Lord Shiva temple. Lord Shiva is a good of Destroyer. He has many names such a Mahadev, Shiva, Rudra and so on. Pashupatinath is one of the four most important religious temples of the earth. The temple is built in the 5th century. but there is no clear evidence. The temple is renovated by Malla Dynasty kings. This temple was discovered by Gopal Bamsi.

  • Swayambhunath Stupa: Swayambhunath stupa is one of the UNESCO world heritage sites. people also call it “Monkey Temple. This is a good place to see panoramic views of the Kathmandu city. if the weather is good then most of the Kathmandu is seen. the stupa is stood on a hillock. The site itself has stood as a hallmark of faith and harmony for centuries. The glory of Kathmandu Valley is said to have started from here. Swayambhunath is one of the holiest Buddhist Chaityas in Nepal.there is Buddhist school as well.

  • Boudhanath Stupa: The Boudhanath stupa is very unique and large Buddhist stupa. Boudha Stupa is UNESCO World Heritage Site. it is one of the most popular tourist spots of Kathmandu. The Stupa area is on the ancient trade route from Tibet, Nepal. When refugees entered Nepal from Tibet in the 1950s, many have been living around Boudhanath. The Stupa is Kassapa Buddha stupa.there are many monasteries around it.
