We are a new business in the village with a local lifestyle
We are offering overnight accommodation, either traditional "balancer" huts or tents; we provide foam mattresses and sheets.
We also have a cafe serving hot and cold drinks, coffee ceremonies and food

Welcome to the campsite
Jegoley family eco campsite is sitting a village Asheten sitting high above the town of Lalibela. It is situated on top of a hill with spectacular views over the surrounding. The Eco Campsite offers excellent accommodation in a spectacular and peaceful rural setting, accompanied by authentic cuisine and traditional hospitality.
It is located 5 km close to the fume churches of Aheten Maryam, and then you can stay in our camping tents or round tukul hut with amazing views over the town. Ethiopia's famous historical site of Lalibela is close to our eco campsites
Visiter come from all over the world to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lalibela rock-hewn churches.
But there is so much more to see around Lalibela. Incredible mountain hiking, distant sunset views and more bird species than you could count
I have designed a network of hiking from half day walks through the fertile river valley below the town up to 4day treks to Abune Yosef, ove 4300 metres tall.
The wildlife and geology you will see are incredible chilada baboons, Golden Eagles and towering basalt cliff
Trekking in Ethiopia may be intimidating, so let us organize your visit. You can choose to stay in a village guesthouse or a high mountain eco-lodge. We are happy to provide for your needs. If your group is larger than this, we would still love to provide food and drink for your visit. If you call in advance, we can discuss your requirements and make sure we are prepared for you.
We are the only business providing such services on the top of Ashete village; it offers a chance to take in the beautiful and serene surroundings as well as create a much more relaxed day than rushing back to Lalibela town for lunch/dinner and a coffee ceremony.
