A scenic two-and-a-half-hour drive will take you to Musanze, nestled near Volcanoes National Park. Depending on your arrival time, a one-hour town tour may include a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Upon arrival in Musanze, settle in for the night at the Muhabura Hotel (budget), Bamboo Lodge (mid-range), or 5 Volcanoes Lodge (luxury), according to your preference.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, embark on an early morning trek to the park headquarters or Kinigi, where you will complete official formalities and receive a ranger-led briefing. Immerse yourself in the world of gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park, an experience enriched by the rangers' guidance. The embrace of the rainforest offers both comfort and wonder. After the trek, return to your lodge to relax, have dinner, and spend the night.
Day 3: Visit to Dian Fossey's Grave
After breakfast, pay homage to Dian Fossey, the pioneering African white gorilla explorer and American naturalist. Her legacy comes alive through captivating stories recounting her heroic journey and dedication to gorilla conservation. Explore his iconic works and perhaps treat yourself to a copy of "Gorillas in the Mist." Enjoy a relaxing break, followed by dinner and a peaceful night at your lodge.
Day 4: Leisure and Transfer to Kigali Airport/
Return to Hotel Embark on a short tour of the community/village and discover local life. Then, travel to Kigali, where you'll have the opportunity to shop at local markets for souvenirs. Enjoy a hearty lunch before your driver-guide takes you back to the airport or your chosen destination, concluding this enriching expedition.
