As a local guide since 2018, I have watched hundreds of visitors become silent, and some even emotional, during these two sacred ceremonies. This is not a sightseeing tour. This is a spiritual experience.

1. Sukh Asan & Palki Sahib - The Night Ceremony (9:45 PM - 10:30 PM)

This is the closing ceremony of the day.

At exactly 10 PM, the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy scripture of Sikhism, is placed on a beautiful golden palanquin known as Palki Sahib. It is carried on the shoulders of devotees from the main shrine, Harmandir Sahib, to the Akal Takht for its night rest, called Sukh Asan.

What you will witness:

- The Parikrama (the marble walkway around the holy lake) is washed with milk and water.

- Thousands of fresh flower petals are showered on the path.

- Devotees chant "Waheguru" in a single, powerful rhythm that vibrates in your chest.

- The Golden Temple glows against the black sky, its reflection shimmering perfectly in the Amrit Sarovar (the holy water tank).

There is no pushing. No noise. Only peace. This is the most photogenic and serene moment of the temple. A memory you will never forget.

2. Prakash & Morning Parikrama - The Dawn Ceremony (4:15 AM - 5:00 AM)

This is the opening ceremony. You must wake up early, but it is worth every second.

At 4:15 AM, before sunrise, the holy scripture is brought back from the Akal Takht to the main shrine in a grand procession. This is called Prakash, meaning "the light is here." It is accompanied by sacred hymns, drums (Nagara), and conch shells.

Before that, we do a barefoot morning walk, or Parikrama, around the Sarovar. The marble is cool, the air is crisp, and the city is still asleep. You hear only the morning prayers, Gurbani Kirtan, from the loudspeakers.

After the ceremony, we experience Langar - the world's largest community kitchen. More than 100,000 people eat together daily, sitting on the floor. No rich, no poor. All equal. You will sit, eat, and serve with everyone. This is the heart of Sikhism.
