To help you get better and consistent results try the following - Take care of your golf ball during a round by keeping it as clean as possible, set up properly and watch the wind. Whether from the tee, on the course or on the greens, the following information should become part of your regular on course routines.

Off the tee

The secret to good golf will always be consistency. It has always been a problem for the high handicapper. You know you can play some good shots but you need to practice and play a lot more to be able to repeat them consistently. But while that is happening, if you can’t be sure that you are going to hit a good shot, at least make sure that - your ball is ready to be hit correctly. The word ‘hit’ used here is not necessarily the correct terminology but is used purely to help explain the below. (One does not hit at a ball but one swings through the ball……… for a little clarity).

Tee the ball the same height. If you tee the ball high on one hole then slightly down on the next, you are asking your club head to approach impact at a different angle each time. If this happens, each shot is going to react differently and if hit straight, you are going to get varying results on your distances which can be disastrous for your scorecard. You want consistency. Driver - full swing, I get X distance, or 3 wood - three quarter swing, I get X distance. It’s called consistency - difficult sometimes but very achievable. If you tee up your ball at exactly the same height each time – you can at least help get that consistency you desire in one area of your game - which you will find is very important.
