Gokyo Valley Trek is one of the most popular trekking destinations in the Khumbu region. It lies in the west of Mount Everest, the highest mountain peak in the world. It takes 11-12 days from Lukla by flying both ways from Kathmandu. Every year, 15,000 to 20,000 trekkers visit in this valley. One can visit Gokyo Lakes by main three ways-straight up from Namche Bazaar, via Renjo-La pass & via Cho-La pass through Everest Base Camp valley. It is wonderful panorama view from Gokyo Ri peak.

Trekking in the world’s highest wetland region of Gokyo valley in the Mt. Everest region or Khunmu valley leads to amazing views of giants snow-capped mountains. This memorable adventure to Gokyo valley trekking to start with a scenic short flight of Lukla and walking through traditional Sherpa villages towards Namche Bazaar, a prosperous trading town or the main center of Khumbu region and an official headquarters. 

After a good acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar, the trek heading to higher alpine of Gokyo Valley with its pristine glacial lakes, the walk leads through verdant rhododendron, birch and blue pines forest with magnificent views of surrounding snow-capped mountains of Thamserku, Kongde, Tawache and Ama Dablam passing through temporary settlement of Dole, Luza, Machhermo and finally reaching at Gokyo Lakes 4,750 m. Undoubtedly, the most unique and stunning destination and truly a lifetime experience at Gokyo is a hike to scenic point at Gokyo Ri for panoramic views of world’s highest peaks of Cho Oyu, Mt. Everest, Lhotse and Mt. Makalu along with other smaller snow-capped mountains. 

After a memorable time of all highlights of Khumbu region, then heading back on the main trail back to Lukla via the famed Thyangboche/Tengboche Monastery and Namche Bazaar concluding this grand journey to Gokyo Ri and Everest Panorama treks at Lukla and then back to Kathmandu.
