Gokyo Valley Trek is the unconventional yet distinctive and enriching route offering the cocktail of close up Mount Everest views, ice fall of the Ngozumpa glacier and much more unforgettable scenery. Aside from natural beauty as one treks along this fairly strenuous route one becomes familiar with the Nepalese and Tibetean cultures followed in this aesthetic Himalayan region. The Gokyo Trek ends at Gokyo RI (5357 meters). Gokyo Lake Trek serves to the purpose of mild trekkers. Lying at the head of serene Dudh Koshi Valley is the best possible alternative to the ever popular. It is a peaceful trek via Sherpa heartland that allows more than enough time for acclimatization while you can relish the panoramic mountain view and comely alpine campsites. After ascending Gokyo Ri, we can savour the gorgeous vista of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu all at once.

Gokyo Valley Trekking like any other conventional routes begins from once in a lifetime flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. As a precaution to altitude sickness we rest for day at Phakding after short trek. Early in the morning next day we march upward to the primary market of Himalayan region i.e. Namche Bazaar. You can stroll around the local markets of Namche as we will rest there for acclimatization as suggested by our NEST health experts. After Namche, we walk relentlessly to Phorse Village while we remain awestruck by the abundant rhododendron forest on the way. Then we will pass through waterfalls and suspension bridges to reach Dole hosting few teahouses. The occasional spotting pheasants, mountain goats and musk deer are common along the way in course of Gokyo Valley Trek. Inspired by the serene location around we reach Machhermo which is the last human inhabited place on the way to Gokyo ri trek . We will also observe the ancient Lama footprints captured as fossils at Longpongo on the way to Gokyo. Finally after reaching Gokyo, we climb Gokyo RI to enjoy the best viewpoint of entire Everest region and series of six lakes in the region. These are the prime regions and aspects of Gokyo Valley.
