Civilization in Inle at 18 century was one of the minority group that upgraded the techniques of growing a floating garden on the lake. Firstly they have to collect floating weeds, sea reeds, hollow stem to make them weave together to form light strips. The garden is anchored with a bamboo pole to the bed of the lake not to move the way. They would then fill it with the mud scoops from the lake bottom with the ladles. So the garden becomes a Kyun Myaw which means a floating garden. They mix animals waste especially to make it a fertile land. The floating garden is used to cultivated by women by using both sides of the strip all the year round.
