The one who wrote this article is the guide known as Stapha Oganga and is among the Company guide we do have and the best one. Stapha has a bachelor degree in Law and Diploma in tour guiding and wildlife management. The article comprises of the life and nature of the Zebra especially in East Africa and specifically Ruaha National Park, the largest park in Tanzania.

Zebra comes from the family name called Equidae and their gestation periods are 12 to 13 months taking birth with a little baby zebra weighing 50 kg. There are various species of the zebra but for now, we have only three species which are mountain zebra, plains zebra, and grevy's zebra. The most commonly known as plains zebra which are found in East Africa.

Zebras can run up to 65 km/hr top speed while they are in danger or at the time being chased by the predators.

People say that zebras are white with black stripes but the truth is zebras are black with white stripes, and the nature of their body creates something unique on the part of the cooling system. Black stripes absorb the moisture while white stripes reflect the sunshine and keep the body temperature regular.

The group of zebras are called a dazzle, herd or zeal of zebra and most of the time almost 80%, zebras are sleeping. This is because of being hunted by the predators. They are safe at night because most of the predators like lion and others have a colourless vision so their stripes help them and prevent predators from recognizing them. They can move or migrate up to 1,800 miles; this combines the gestation and looking for pastures and water.

Zebras' weight ranges 300 kg to 400 kg for female and male is 300 kg.
