You probably already know that Kenya is a wildlife paradise. But did you know that Nairobi is swarming with wildlife as well? Within some few minutes from the busy streets of the Nairobi, capital city of Kenya, you can see baby elephants playing in a special orphanage at David Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary, feed giraffes in an urban sanctuary at Giraffe Center, or see free-roaming lions, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos, buffalos and hippos at the Nairobi National Park.

You can easily plan a full day full of Nairobi Excursions. For example, leave your Nairobi hotel after breakfast and in minutes, you will be at the edge of the city, deep in a dramatic savannah, on your own private game drive safari at Nairobi National Park. You will be on the lookout for buffalos, zebras, giraffes, ostriches, and hyenas and of course all the big cats.

From there and at exactly 11.00 am, you will visit the David Sheldrick elephant sanctuary to delight in the most adorable orphaned baby elephants feeding on giant baby bottles!. You can adopt one of them.

It is already time for lunch and you can choose to have it at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden or at the world-famous Carnivore Restaurant. This is followed by a visit to the Karen Blixen Museum, made famous in the movie, “Out of Africa”.

The afternoon promises more excitement as we drop in on the Giraffe Center, home of endangered Rothschild’s Giraffes. On these stately grounds, you can get up close and even feed these imposing creatures. There is the possibility to stay at the luxurious Giraffe Manor and dine with the Giraffes.

Your day tour will be wrapped up with a private tour at the dazzling Kazuri Bead Center where female artisans create bright, handmade ceramic jewellery. The jewellery sales help these women improve their lives.
