Ecuador is one of the smallest countries in South America, but its territory promises excellent natural and cultural wealth. Called the "Country of the 4 Worlds" due to its continental area divided by the Andes. This mountain range crosses the territory in half, leaving in its path three well-marked regions: the highlands, the coast and the Amazon region, and the famous Galapagos Islands, which is the insular region that belongs to the Ecuadorian territory.


Some important information to know about Ecuador:


Climate: The three geographical zones: Coast (Pacific coast), the Highlands (the Andes), and the East (Amazonia), have 3 different climates. The highlands climate and although Ecuador is crossed by the Equator line, the altitude will often make it cold in the highlands, the average annual temperature is 8º to 22º degrees Celsius. The average on the coast and in the east of 24 to 27 degrees Celsius. However, in the east, there is an average humidity between 80 and 100%. Galapagos has a dry tropical climate with average temperatures between 25 and 30 degrees Celsius.


La Sierra: The atmosphere here is temperate and humid all year round. From December to April, 19 - 25 degrees in the day with sun exposure is the period where there is more rain and clouds. The period from June to September is the dry season and sunnier. The temperature range can be very high during the day, especially at midnight, cool nights 7 - 10 degrees Celsius, especially between December and April.


The Coast: The weather here is tropical weather, hot and humid. The hottest months are between December to April (26 - 30 degrees Celsius), the coolest months from June to August.


The East: In the rainforest, the climate is very humid and very hot all year round. Heavy rains between January and April.


Galapagos: The climate is also very stable and allows you to visit this sanctuary all year round. Depending on the activity of the marine currents, the weather is warmer and more humid between January and April. The water and air temperatures do not vary much, about 5 degrees between seasons, with an average of 22 to 30 degrees Celsius for the air and 20 to 25 degrees Celsius for the water.
