This 4-day walking tour of the Kazbegi region is carefully designed for active travelers who want to experience the pristine, authentic beauty of Georgia without sacrificing the safety and knowledge of the locals.

We will hike through deep gorges, reach stunning viewing platforms overlooking Mount Kazbek (5054 m) and discover hidden valleys where time seems to have stopped.

4-day walking tour: What awaits you?

Day 1: The famous Trinity Church in Gergeti and the waterfalls of Gveleti.

Our journey begins with the most famous postcard view of Georgia, but with a twist for hikers — we reach it on foot, avoiding the crowds of tourists.

Route : Stepantsminda - Holy Trinity Church in Gergeti - Gveleti Waterfalls.

Walking distance: ~10-12 km.

Height: from 1740 m, ascent up to 2170 m (Gergeti).

Difficulty level : Medium.

What awaits you: We will hike through the ancient forest to the 14th-century Trinity Church of Gergeti, which stands proudly against the backdrop of the majestic Kazbek Mountain. After a picnic with panoramic views, we will take a short transfer and a refreshing walk to the powerful Gveleti waterfall (Snake), hidden in a narrow basalt gorge.

The secret of hiking (Day 1) : The secret to the perfect photo of Gergeti without hundreds of tourists in the frame is the time and the right ridge. We know exactly which hidden path to follow to get that "alone in the mountains" view. In addition, do not bring a heavy lunch with you – we will organize a traditional Georgian mountain picnic with local cheese and fresh bread right on the ridge.

Where are we staying : We will check into a cozy, carefully selected guest house/hotel in the heart of Stepantsminda (Kazbegi). There will be no need to collect and disassemble heavy luggage every day — this city will become our comfortable base. In the evening, we will have a warm traditional welcome dinner with an unforgettable view of Mount Kazbek.

Day 2: Mystical valley of Truso (Country of mineral springs)

Today we will talk about unique landscapes, volcanic formations and abandoned medieval border villages.

Route: hiking along the Tergi River in the Truso gorge.

Walking distance : ~16 km (mostly flat terrain, but the route is worth it).

Altitude above sea level : ~2000-2200 m.

Difficulty level: from easy to moderate (endurance-oriented).

What awaits you : The Truso Valley is a geological wonder. We will walk past the bright orange travertine formations created by mineral springs, taste natural sparkling water directly from the ground and climb to the ruins of the Zakagori fortress, located on the very edge of history.

Tourist's Secret (Day 2) : The Truso Valley is beautiful, but completely open to all the elements — there is not a drop of shadow there. While other tourists are sunburned or tired, our life hack is a strategically chosen time to stop at a hidden local cafe right in the valley to drink a cup of mountain herbal tea. Important tip: since this is a border area, we issue all official permits in advance — you just have to enjoy the hike.

Where are we staying : We returned to our hotel in Stepantsminda. After a pleasant 16-kilometer hike, there is nothing better than a hot shower, relaxing on the terrace and a glass of local Georgian wine.

Tourist's Secret (Day 3) : Weather at the foot of Chaukha (2600 m) It can change from sunny summer to cool autumn in 15 minutes. We always advise our guests to bring clothes that can be worn in layers, but here's our personal bonus: we bring trekking poles for all group members to protect your knees on a rocky descent, and we know the exact spot where the horses graze, located closest to the trail, for incredible wildlife shots. nature.

Radial routes provide maximum comfort: you don't have to live on suitcases. Our base hotel in Stepantsminda will be your home throughout the active part of the tour. After each hike, you will be able to return to a real warm bed.

Security is not just a buzzword: the Caucasus Mountains demand respect. We monitor weather changes in real time using satellite data and always have a reliable backup plan in case the pass gets foggy.
