Kashi, Varanasi, Banaras, Ganga and the cremation ghats are very important for every Hindu. It is a place where everyone wants to come atleast once in a lifetime. We have many places in India but Varanasi is very different.. every moment you can see different activities.. You can also witness many sadhu (holy men) and sanyasi (Naga sadhu) like Naked Holy Men. Sometimes you will also find some holy men who have come to Varanasi to breathe their last in this land, as there is an old belief that if you die here, you will attain Moksha (salvation). Varanasi happens to be one of the oldest cities in the world. Of all the religious places in India, every moment here has a different activity especially at the Ghats of river Ganga or the narrow streets. Perhaps this is the reason, more than 5000 to 6000 pilgrims come here everyday, from all over India; not only for rituals but also to purify their souls and get the ultimate salvation (moksha). Incredible Varanasi !! Isn’t it ?
