Egyptian Museum:


Popularly known as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, one can view an exclusive and extensive collection of  ancient Egyptian antiquities and artifacts here. There are infact more than 1,20,000 items on display  and in other places. This museum was built in the year 1901. Visit this place for views of important pieces of Egyptian history. There are two main floors in the museum, the ground floor and the first floor. On the ground floor,there is an extensive collection of papyrus and coins used in the Ancient world and also artifacts from the New Kingdom (1550 and 1069 BC). And on the first floor,  one can see pieces and ancient artifacts from the final two dynasties of Egypt and ofcourse items from the tombs of the Pharaohs Thutmosis III, Thutmosis IV, Amenophis II, Hatshepsut, and also from the historic Valley of the Kings,


Citadel of Salah Ed - Din :


This medieval period construction is another must visit in Cairo. It is basically a medieval period Islamic fortification in Cairo with a UNESCO Status as part of the World Heritage Site Historic Cairo (Islamic Cairo). Now, there are major mosques inside this Citadel; the Mosque of Mohamed Ali, Al- Nasir Mohammad mosque and the Mosque of Sulayman Pasha. At the same time, there are also a few museums located inside this citadel, namely, Egyptian Military museum, Carriage museum etc. 



Coptic Cairo:


Coptic Cairo is mainly a part of Old Cairo and the prime location of historic places such as the Babylon Fortress, the Coptic Museum, the Hanging Church, the Greek Church of St. George and other Coptic churches. Legends and Christian beliefs has it that the Holy Family visited this area and stayed at the site of Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church (Abu Serga). Visit this place for it's strong Christian connections in Egypt, which existed until the Islamic era time periods.
