Spring is, without any doubt, the most beautiful season in Kyiv. Blooming trees make Ukraine’s capital really incredible. The sweet scent of flowers fills the air, making everyone feel romantic and inspired. The air begins to warm, and the first spring flowers pop out. The trees erupt with thousands of pink and white magnolia blooms, along with lilac that comes in a wide range of colors and fragrances.

A botanical garden in spring is a joy for every nature lover. It is a good place to enjoy magnolia and lilac in the city, and to take a break from city hustle and bustle.  There are two wonderful botanical gardens in Kyiv. Both of them are very beautiful and can offer a great collection of plants from various corners of the world. Hryshko National Botanical Garden, founded in 1936, contains over 13,000 varieties of plants, flowers, shrubs and trees. The garden is located close to the Pecherska metro station and covers an area of 130 hectares. The collection of Fomin Botanical Garden includes about 8,000 different plant species. The garden, founded in 1839, is one of the oldest botanical gardens in Ukraine. It is located in the historical center of the city, near the Universytet metro station, and occupies the territory of 22 hectares.

If you are planning to come to Ukraine's capital and wondering when to visit it, choose the spring season to see magnolia and other blossoms.
