Behestan Castle or old fortress is built in the mountains of hard soil. The castle is damaged due to the rapid winds, eroding and passes of Ghezel Ozan River. This kind of castle is actually a fossil-shaped rock and resembles a tall minaret with hard rocks on it. In the term geology, this phenomenon is called hoodoo.
