Behestan castle is one of the best castles of Iran and the castle was made in a different form. The age of the castle is around 3500 years ago during the median period. The road and highways are made for easy reaching & river near castle make nature look amazing.

"Behestan castle" is one of the 20 historical castles of Zanjan. The fort of the fifth century AH is estimated. Behestan castle, or Old Fort, is located in Mahanshan city in Zanjan province, along with the Ghezel Ozan River. The upper floors of this castle were used for defense and the lower floors were used as slum and food storage facilities. This castle is built in a rugged mountain ridge. The castle is demolishing due to the erosion of the rapid wind, as well as the passage of the Ghezel Ozan River along with it. Due to the specific circumstances of that period, the rulers have made the fort in order to defend themselves and the people.
