Ethiopia is one of the topmost 25 biodiversity rich spots and also one of the most diverse countries on our planet.
Bale Mountains has one of the highest incidences of Animals endemism of any terrestrial habitat on the earth. There is every variety of Tropical Rain Forests, High Moorland with Afro alpine, Lake savanna and desert. The huge variation of climate, topography and vegetation has created several conditions for many endemics plants, mammals and birds.
The park in itself hold 26 percent of Ethiopia's endemic species. Afro alpine of Sanate plateaus is one of the largest continuous areas of its altitude in the entire of Africa. The entire area is covered by everlasting flowers and punctuated by Gaint Lobelia (Lobelia rynchopatelum) and dotted by alpine lakes; it is home for many rodents and Ethiopian Wolves.
