The majestic Himalayan mountain range is only a part of Nepal's incredible environment. The elevation of the country ranges from 60m above sea level to the highest point in the earth, Mt Everest, all within a distance of 150km. This results in a climate that varies from a lush sub- tropical setting to one reminiscent of the Arctic. The rich cultural heritage of this country also offers an astonishing diversity of sightseeing attractions and adventure opportunities that canmot be found anywhere else on earth. Nepal is a country where Buddhists and Hindus have coexisted for centuries in total harmony. Likewise, the temple of Pashupatinath is Nepal's most sacred Hindu shrine and one of the four most important sites in the world for Shiva worshipers. Numerous annual festivals are celebrated throughout the year in the traditional styles that highlight Nepal's enduring customs and beliefs. A visit to Nepal is not only about discovering a new destination, but is also a way to understand a culture and way of life that may be vastly different from your own.
