Yangon, a commercial city of Myanmar as well as a former capital city ,known as for its glittering holy tower and possessing of colonial heritage buildings regarded as a metropolitan city of south-east Asia because diversity of national ethnic people with their different cultures , costumes and religions are residing in this city.
Among them some people migrated from India and china to Yangon for their businesses during the colonial era.So that you can be notice the people with indian-faces along your sightseeing tour in down-town.In addition,you can observe the architectures of religious edifices such as Churches,Mosques,Hindu Temples ,chinese temples and Buddhist monasteries and monuments which located within a few metres distant away.In fact, these days,I think that you can hardly to find this kind of place across the world even though they are different faiths, living closely each other under peaceful co-existence.Therefore my city,Yangon, decorated with varieties of ethnic races , colourful architecture religious buildings and magnificent colonial buildings.
You will have a lot of fun when you take a circle train with commuters and passengers who are wearing Thanaka(Myanmar's traditional natural make-up) on their cheeks with charming faces and friendly smiles.By the way, I want to explain about the makeup, called Thanakha, a yellow paste made from the ground bark of a tree found in the dry central part of Myanmar and is used to decorate the cheeks of the women and girls in a traditional dating back centuries.As well as a cosmetic,the paste acts as a protection against the strong sun,whilst keeping their skin cool.
The more you learn ,the better you may know about the features of Burmese people and the another intresting of our culture is chewing betel quid.According to the data there are 64 per cent of men in Myanmar consume betel quid in their daily life.Chewing quid without swallowing its liquid and spite it out occasionally.
Shwedagon pagoda,not only landmark of Yangon but also Myanmar is always crowded with local pilgrims and international visitors on the platform of it.you can learn religious cultures , customs and Asian architectures.In Buddhism, some mysterious Hinduism and animism's cultures are mixing but they have been existing in Myanmar from immemorial time and inheriting generation to generation so as to observe this lovely culture until nowadays
