The idea of this tour is to enjoy three different types of Jazz at three different types of venues. You can choose to remain in one location or move about, deciding the duration of your stay at each club.
Visit 3 clubs and spend about an hour at each club. Sometimes, visitors choose to remain in one location if they like a band or stay to hear a second band if a different band replaces an earlier band. We cover about a mile in total for the evening and normally finish the tour by 11 pm.
Licensed and insured New Orleans guide.
Each venue does not have an admission. However, each venue requires that one drink per person is purchased per set. Drinks are reasonably priced, and if you don't drink alcohol, any soft drink or juice is fine.
In that most venues that do not serve food, minors are not admitted.
The tour fee does not include gratuities for each band.
Know before you go
We embark on tours rain or shine.
We welcome visitors with limited mobility but need to know in advance to make access arrangements in some locations.
Note: At the present (2/1/2021), no indoor Jazz venues are open due to the pandemic and Jazz clubs' inability to provide social distancing. However, once Jazz venues are allowed to operate, we usually handle our music tours, as stated above.
Jazz venues are typically open at night (with some exceptions). Most venues open at 8 pm, and we suggest that visitors have dinner before starting this tour.
This is a walking tour, covering about a mile, and all venues are inside the French Quater.
