Description

Set out on this tour to see more than 400 bird species of birds and animals in their natural habitats, including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhinoceros) in Tanzania. Visit wildlife-rich areas such as Saadani National Park, Amani Nature Reserve, and Mkomazi National Park, where a variety of birds and animals like Martial Eagle, Ostrich, Weavers, Kori Bustard, hippo, hyena, vervet monkeys and colobus monkeys reside.

    • Meet the tour guide at Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere Airport, who will give you a short brief about the trip. 

    • Start driving towards Bagamoyo road after the briefing.

    Have dinner, and stay overnight at Bagamoyo Hotel.

  • Day 2: Bagamoyo - Saadani National Park expand_more

    • Wake up at 06:00 am and have a coffee at the lodge. 

    • Go for birdwatching around the hotel backyard.

    • Start driving toward Saadani National Park for a game drive and enjoy bird watching and seeing animals in the national park.

    • Have lunch inside the national park and then continue after lunch with birding up to 04:00 pm.

    • Drive to Pangani, where you will stay overnight. 

  • Day 3: Pangani - Amani Nature Reserve expand_more

    • After breakfast at the lodge, drive towards Muheza to visit Amani Nature Reserve.

    • Go birding on the way, and then have lunch at Amani Nature Reserve.

    • Do birding all day at Amani Forest, savour dinner, and afterwards, go out to spot owls.

    Overnight at Amani Field Center.

  • Day 4: Amani Nature Reserve - East Usambara expand_more

    • Enjoy full day birding at Amani Nature Reserve.

    Overnight at Amani Field Center.

  • Day 5: Amani Nature Reserve - West Usamabara expand_more

    • Wake up at 06:00 am, and do birding around the lodge before breakfast.

    • Start driving to West Usambara, and eat lunch on the way to Lushoto. 

    Dinner and overnight at Lawn’s Hotel.

  • Day 6: Magamba Nature Forest Reserve expand_more

    • Enjoy full-day birding at Magamba Nature Forest Reserve.

  • Day 7: West Usambara – Mkomazi expand_more

    • Have breakfast at the hotel at 06:00 am and then leave the hotel at 07:00 am and drive towards Moshi road.

    • Do birding all the way to the same town. It will be a day for dry country species around the Mkomazi area.

    Overnight at Elephant Motel.

  • Day 8: Full-Day at Mkomazi National Park expand_more

    • Have breakfast and lunch inside the national park, as most of the time will be spent birding and animal viewing.

    • Start driving back to the accommodation at around 06:00 pm.

    • Have dinner and review the trip and the experience.

  • Day 9: Wami River – Dar Es Salam expand_more

    • Embark on a long day of driving, and stop for new bird species on the way.

    • Have lunch at Wami River and do birding along the river.

    • Drive to Dar es Salaam via Bagamoyo road after lunch. 

    • Ride back to the accommodation, and enjoy dinner with the guide.

  • This trip will start from Dar es Salaam and end in Dar es Salaam. During the travel, you will visit the most beautiful area on the coast of Tanzania and spend most of your time birding and animal viewing. Start from Dar es Salaam, Bagamoyo, Saadani National Park, Pangani, Amani Nature Reserve, Lushoto, same (Mkomazi National Park) Korogwe, Segera, Mkata and then back to Dar es Salaam. On our trip, you will have a chance to observe more than 400 bird species.
