Description
Visit the south-coast of Iceland and go hiking on a glacier then visit the incredible waterfalls of Skógar and Seljalandsfoss on one of the most-do day tours from Reykjavík. Go through the rugged Sólheimajökull Glacier followed by the Seljalandsfoss waterfall that is one of Iceland's most famous attractions. Visit the Skógarfoss waterfall and pass by small villages seated at the bases of infamous Eyjafjallajökull & Hekla Volcanoes.
Join our tour and step aboard one of our new buses, fully equipped with WiFi connected computer tablets for each guest. The tablets provide you with a continuous stream of relevant information along the journey with a GPS synced Audio Guide, available with a choice of 10 languages. Tours depart from the Reykjavik Terminal located at Skógarhlíð 10. Please be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure along with a printed or digital copy of your ticket/voucher.
If you have booked a hotel pick up with Smartbus™, please be at your chosen pickup location 30 minutes before the departure of the tour. Look for the Green Smartbus™ which will be outside your accommodation within the 30 minutes of pickup. -

The Solheim Glacier is a magnificent and humbling sight to behold, it is a glacial tongue extension of the Myrdalsjökull glacier. When we arrive there, you will be outfitted by the Icelandic Mountain Guides with all the necessary equipment for hiking and exploring the cracks and crevasses of the glacier.

Along the return trip to Reykjavik, we will stop at the powerful 65 meters tall Skógafoss Waterfall where a short walk up a flight of steps will reveal one of Iceland´s most scenic views of glaciers, volcanoes, and black sandy beaches. With viewpoints both above and directly next to the waterfall, photographers will have plenty of chances to capture that unique shot.

The Seljalandsfoss waterfall is for many guests the highlight of this trip, as you can walk along this waterfall offering completely unique perspectives! From here we will spend about 1.5 hours in the coach returning to Reykjavik.

What's Excluded
Pick-up and Drop-off at the hotel can be booked as an extra service with our SmartBus™ service. Otherwise, you are advised to be at our Reykjavik Terminal 15 minutes before the tour departure time.
What to bring
For the In-Bus-Audio-Guide: Bring your own headphones. Otherwise, headphones are available for purchase on every bus from our hosts.
For your comfort: Dress according to the weather. In Iceland, it is always wise to dress in warm waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden, so be prepared for all weather conditions. Waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves, and warm socks/waterproof shoes are recommended.
For the glacier hike: it's best to wear warm and flexible clothing, something thin and quick-drying is ideal. Jeans get don't stretch and get heavy when wet. It is also good to have a rain jacket or a softshell. It is also a good idea to bring or buy some lunch for the way since you will be hiking during the middle of the day and will not have a chance to eat lunch till after the glacier hike.
Know before you go
Please show up at our Reykjavik Terminal (located at Skógarhlíð 10) 15 minutes prior to the departure time. Please be ready at your pick up point with your voucher, either in digital or printed form.
If you have booked a hotel pick up with Smartbus™, please be at your chosen pickup location 30 minutes before the departure of the tour. Look for the Green Smartbus™ which will be outside your accommodation at within the 30 minutes of pickup.
You will be travelling in a coach that holds approximately 40-65 people, but is very spacious and comfortable. It is featured with lavatory facilites as standard and there will be plenty of stops where facilities can be used. The bus offers free wifi and USB charging ports.
Lunch is not included, but in Hvolsvöllur there are shops where you can buy food and drinks.

Age Limit: For crampons you need to have at least shoe size 35
Duration: Approximately 11 hours.
Hiking boots that reach over your ankle are a must on our glacier walks if boots are needed you may rent them for 1500 ISK.
Other clothing should be picked according to weather that day. You will not get much colder on the glacier as on the ground.
