Description

Departing from El Calafate to the Port of Punta Bandera, 47 km from El Calafate, we begin sailing on the North Arm of Lake Argentino. We cross the Boca del Diablo to the Upsala Canal and to navigate among the great icebergs that emerge from the front of the Upsala Glacier. Then we enter the Spegazzini Channel and moments later we will have the first view of the Dry Glacier. We continue sailing to the front of the Spegazzini Glacier where we will also see the Heim Sur and Peineta glaciers. The excursion takes place between spectacular icebergs of enormous size and varied forms. It is one of the most important navigations in the area of El Calafate and the National Park since the most spectacular glaciers are visited combining it with a descent into the Spegazzini Canal where you can enjoy a view like never before of this glacier from the new restaurant . We prepare to disembark at La Spegazzini Base and begin the visit to the area by walking through the forest path to the Spegazzini Refuge. This 300-meter path is accessible and when we cross it we stop at stations and viewpoints overlooking the entire Bay of Los Glaciares. Upon arrival at the Spegazzini Refuge, you can have lunch, visit the shop and contemplate the landscape from inside or from the outside terrace. Then we begin the return to the port.
