Go on a comprehensive tour of Turkmenistan's capital city and its post-independence architecture; Nissa UNESCO historical park which also introduces you to the cultural aspects of the lifestyle of the Turkmen people.

DAY 01

Arrival Ashgabat

  • Arrive in Ashgabat by air (evening day one or early morning day two, depending on airline used) or overland from Iran at Bajgiran-Gaudan land border.

  • Transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

DAY 02


  • Go onCity tour in Ashgabat, including a visit to Nissa (UNESCO), Turkmenbashi Mosque-Mausoleum, Kow Ata underground lake. On the way back visit to Geok Depe Mosque.

Accommodation: Ak Altyn 3* Overnight

DAY 03


  • Visit the Sunday Bazaar  (open on Thu, Sat, Sun), Anau Mosque ruins, and private Akhalteke horse farm.

  • At 1400h, drive to Darwaza gas crater (3 hours) with a visit to water and mud craters en route. BBQ dinner and overnight in yurts.

DAY 04

Darwaza – Ashgabat

  • Drive back to Ashgabat. (Arrival around 1200h.)

  • Visit National Museum, Neutrality Arch, Independence Park, and Ruhnama Monument in the afternoon.

Evening city-by-night tour (~1h).

DAY 05


  • After midnight transfer to the airport for the departure flight to the next destination.

  • Turkmenistan tourist visa with validity of 11-20 days, from 105+4 USD per person, when obtained at Ashgabat Airport (subject to change and nationality-dependent)

  • Turkmenistan migration tax 10+4 USD per person, to be paid at Ashgabat Airport or any other point of entering Turkmenistan territory (subject to change)

  • Carpet Museum is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.

  • National Museum is closed on Tuesdays.

  • Weekend Bazaar (aka Tolkuchka or Altyn Asyr Gundogar Bazaar) is best visited on Sundays when there is an additional livestock section. On Mondays-Wednesdays and Fridays, this bazaar is closed, but other city bazaars are open (no photography permitted)

  • Please bring only cash USD for your local expenses in Turkmenistan, no EURO and no credit cards.

  • Please be aware that a member of staff of our agency will need to take your original passport for several hours for registration.

  • Please be aware that there may be various vehicles and drivers used during your tour, depending on the route section and type of transport needed in that section
