5 Days Culture tour itinerary for Ashgabat: See Famous Landmarks With A Glance Into Turkish Lifestyle
Go on a comprehensive tour of Turkmenistan's capital city and its post-independence architecture; Nissa UNESCO historical park which also introduces you to the cultural aspects of the lifestyle of the Turkmen people.
Arrive in Ashgabat by air (evening day one or early morning day two, depending on airline used) or overland from Iran at Bajgiran-Gaudan land border.
Transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Go onCity tour in Ashgabat, including a visit to Nissa (UNESCO), Turkmenbashi Mosque-Mausoleum, Kow Ata underground lake. On the way back visit to Geok Depe Mosque.
Accommodation: Ak Altyn 3* Overnight
Visit the Sunday Bazaar (open on Thu, Sat, Sun), Anau Mosque ruins, and private Akhalteke horse farm.
At 1400h, drive to Darwaza gas crater (3 hours) with a visit to water and mud craters en route. BBQ dinner and overnight in yurts.

Darwaza – Ashgabat
Drive back to Ashgabat. (Arrival around 1200h.)
Visit National Museum, Neutrality Arch, Independence Park, and Ruhnama Monument in the afternoon.
Evening city-by-night tour (~1h).

After midnight transfer to the airport for the departure flight to the next destination.

Carpet Museum is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays.
National Museum is closed on Tuesdays.
Weekend Bazaar (aka Tolkuchka or Altyn Asyr Gundogar Bazaar) is best visited on Sundays when there is an additional livestock section. On Mondays-Wednesdays and Fridays, this bazaar is closed, but other city bazaars are open (no photography permitted)
