Start your trek from Pokhara and walk through the beautiful ethnic villages of the Annapurna Region. Drive through Pokhara and enjoy the beautiful view of the raging Trishuli River. Hike to Ulleri from Nayapul and experience the stone-paved steps passing several small villages. Go on an evening walk around the wonderful Phewa Lake. Hike through the dense rhododendron forest and enjoy the magnificent view. Enjoy the marvellous sunrise at Poon Hill, overlooking the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri mountain ranges.

    • Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, one of our representatives will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel.

    • Take good rest and get refreshed of the jet lag.

    • In the evening, you will be joining a welcome dinner organized at an authentic Nepali restaurant with cultural program.

  • Day 2: Drive/Fly to Pokhara (6-7 hr drive or 30 min flight) expand_more

    By Tourist Bus: 

    • As your bus leaves early morning at 7 a.m., take an early breakfast and catch your bus from Tourist Bus Station.

    • Go on the journey to Pokhara and pass through several small and big settlements via the raging Trishuli River.

    • On the way, the bus will stop for lunch.

     By Private Vehicle:

    • Drive to Pokhara with a private vehicle. (We can arrange private vehicle transportation to Pokhara at your request. You are requested to add the request for the private vehicle while making the booking. This is not included, but if you want, the guide will be provided)

     By Flight: This option is for those who do not want to travel overland or want to skip the long journey on the bumpy road can choose this option. For the flight, you need to pay extra. The flight will take around 30 minutes to get to Pokhara. 

    • Arrive in Pokhara, where you can hire or shop if you have forgotten anything.
    • In the evening, walk around the wonderful Fewa Lake by yourself.

    Overnight at the hotel. 

  • Day 3: Drive to Nayapul and Trek to Ulleri expand_more
    • Take an early breakfast and get ready for the trekking. 

    • Go for a short drive to Nayapul from Pokhara. (1.5 hr drive)

    • From Nayapul, start your trekking. The trail from Nayapul is an easy trail where you walk through the stone-paved steps passing several small villages (1960m/4-5 hours trek/8 km approx). Just below Ulleri, you will be treated with the first glimpse of Annapurna South.

    Overnight in Ulleri at a teahouse.

  • Day 4: Trek to Ghorepani expand_more

    A tough yet wonderful trekking day.

    • Hike through the dense rhododendron forest. The hiking will be more special if it is in the spring as the Rhododendron blooms around with seven colours. (2860m/6-7 hr/12km  approx)

    • Upon reaching Ghorepani, you will forget all the pains you had during the walking as the mountain views are just perfect and refreshing. Enjoy a hot cup of tea with awe-inspiring views of the mountains.

  • Day 5: Hike to Poon Hill & Trek to Ghandruk expand_more
    • Wake up early morning, take your torchlight and start hiking up to Poon Hill. It takes one hour to get up to Poon Hill from Ghorepani. It is the best day of trekking. (3,210m/1 hr trek/2.5km approx)

    • At Poon Hill, you can marvel the superb sunrise view in Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Himalayan ranges.

    • Trek back to Ghorepani for breakfast, thereafter start your trek to Ghandruk via Tadapani. (2,600m/6-7 hours trek/15km approx)

    • On the way to Ghandruk, the wonderful views of the mountains accompany you.

    Overnight at Ghandruk.

    Meals: (Breakfast/lunch/dinner)

  • Day 6: Trek Back to Nayapul & Drive Back to Pokhara expand_more
    • From Ghandruk, trek back to Nayapul again. (950m/4-5 hours trek/7 km approx)

    • From Nayapul, drive back to Pokhara in a private vehicle. (820m./1.h hours)

    • In Pokhara, you can take good rest.

    Overnight stay at the hotel.

  • Day 7: Drive/Fly to Kathmandu expand_more

    By Tourist Bus: 

    • Hop in as your bus leaves early morning at 8 a.m., take an early breakfast and catch your bus from Tourist Bus Station and drive back to Kathmandu. On the way, the bus will stop for lunch. (6-7 hr drive)

     By Private Vehicle: 

    • Drive back with a private vehicle. Trek Nepal Himalayas arranges private vehicle transportation to Kathmandu at our client's request. You are requested to add the request for the private vehicle while making the booking. You need to pay extra for a Private Vehicle. (6-7 hr drive)

    By Flight: Those who do not want to travel overland, or want to skip the long journey on the bumpy road can choose this option.

    • Board the flight which will take around 30 minutes to get to Kathmandu. For the flight, you need to pay extra. (30 min flight)

Know before you go

Best Seasons

Spring (March-May)

  • Spring is one of the best seasons for trekking Ghorepani Poon Hill. As you trek through the rhododendron forest you can see the rhododendron blooming around.

Autumn (September-November) 

  • Autumn is another best season for trekking Ghorepani Poon Hill. This time around, the views get clear and amazing.

Winter (December-February)

  • Trekking Ghorepani Poon Hill in winter is also possible. But the atmosphere will be cold and it might be foggy too.

Monsoon(June-August)

  • Trekking Ghorepani Poon Hill in Monsoon is not recommended because the heavy rainfall happens.
