    • Either enjoy the natural surroundings around the palm-fringed beaches or be on the lookout for some of the exotic birds known to frequent the area.

Then venture out to Monkey Island, located in Marshal, which is a sanctuary for chimpanzees who were once used as test animals at the local research institute. Pressure from advocacy groups to stop experiments on chimps, coupled with a lack of funding, has resulted in the closings of such institutions and, thus, in need to find a home for all these primates who could not survive on their own in the wild. The chimps are fed daily by locals who use canoe’s to visit the chimps from a safe distance.

    • Join on the canoe ride to see these beautiful animals. In the afternoon, return to explore the surrounding areas of the lodge further and have several activity options available.

I really really enjoyed my custom tour of Lagos and Abeokuta with Confidence. He's incredibly professional and acted in my best interest at all times. In addition to seeing the main sights of the area, I also wanted to taste as many dishes from Nigerian cuisine as possible. Confidence was super flexible and not only managed to find us every single Nigerian dish and snack to try (DELICIOUS!), but he also arranged an awesome cooking lesson with his chef friend when we visited a nearby city. Speaking of which, he has connections in every corner of West Africa -- not only for cooking lessons, but also for the tricky parts, like borders, where knowing people can really come in handy. Also, his team is great: even if you end up stuck in Lagos traffic you'll have a good time with him and his driver. I 100% recommend Confidence. What a great week!

Confidence planned a great tour of Lagos for me - visiting Makoko and other places that are difficult to visit on your own - especially as a foreigner. We'll planned and executed. He is also guiding in many other west African countries and I found out he has has been a guide for some of my friends from back home as well (who also recommends him). So a highly appreciated thanks and a star recommendation for him!

I had a fantastic time touring West Africa with Ucomeafrik. Confidence carefully curated a trip related to my specific interests and intentions going to West Africa. I wanted to visit the countries of my ancestors and learn about their religious practices as well as the slave history. This level of exploration would not have been possible without visiting places few other tours would venture to go to alone.  It became clear that Confidence had confidants in high places allowing for safe passage in regions that were precarious, even to seasoned travelers like myself. Additionally, he not only had so much knowledge to impart for each culture and region we drove through, but also carefully selected tour guides for the various slave castles we visited (Elmina, and Cape Coast being highlights). I highly recommend Confidence to travelers seeking the real deal experince in Ghana, Togo, Benin and Nigeria.

Confidence is an honest man and good guide!  He tells you the cost of everything before hand so there are no surprises.  He set me up with a driver, car and himself.  He is friendly and speaks good English.  I toured with him for about ten days in Nigeria, him home country.  He arranged a safe rental car and the driver was very safe and responsible despite very difficult traffic at times.  Confidence did his best to expose me to as much as possible during this time, learning about culture and this sadly very poor, corrupt country though with many very nice people and some beautiful sites.

  • Osama

Confidence did the visa, airport transfer and a tour of Makoko. He replied to any questions I had promptly and everything went as planned.

  • Hope

Really nice set of guides who work all through West Africa. Friendly, flexible and knowledgeable. Would definitely hire again.

  • Patrick

Confidence and his drivers were excellent guides and very nice people.  I didn't know much about Lagos before I got here and now have a much better undersatnding.  Confidence knows the issues and has opions which are fun to discuss when stuck in Lagos traffic.  The Nike art gallery is epic in size and scope and the owner is fun and interesting.  I felt safe and secure with Coinfidence and was thoroughly entertained and educated, youwon't regret using Confidence on your next Nigeria tour.

From the first contact over WhatsApp to dropping me off at the Lagos airport, Confidence and his team were one of the best tour guides I have ever had, and everything was sharp-sharp (when you call/text/WhatsApp Confidence, he will tell you what it means)! Like many people, I was nervous about picking a guide, but Confidence provided five American citizens’ names as references to call. When I called/texted them, they all got back with me quickly, and helped me to know I was in good, safe hands with Confidence. I ended up putting down an 80% deposit, which allowed us to concentrate on the experience!

After living in Brazil on assignment with my company for two years as well as growing up in the Southern U.S., I knew I had to visit West Africa to learn about the history and influence it had on two cultures that I love dearly. Confidence tailored a trip, starting by taking me to the African Diaspora festival in Badagary, where they invite Americans (As in North and South America, and Caribbean) whose ancestors were brought over in the slave trade back to walk the path their ancestors took. There are no museum experiences or words to describe the sadness I felt walking the path that slaves walked, or feeling the weight of the chains that were put on them. After the walk, the festival cheered me up, with music, dancing, and masquerades. The people were extremely friendly, and helped to give me hope again. Confidence’s attention to detail, such as keeping my cellphone in his bag, knowing the locals, and even having some cash on hand for people, kept the day smooth and invigorating. We drank some Palm Wine with the locals, and stayed the night.

The best activity we attended was Felabration, or an Afro-Beat music festival named in honor of Fela Kuti. When I arrived in Nigeria, I told Confidence I usually don’t stay out late, but the music was so good, I stayed out until 2:30AM! I could see and feel the African roots of Brazilian samba and axé and United States’ blues and funk.

One thing I wish I could have done is contacted Confidence earlier. Countries like Brazil and Nigeria have many controls to make sure people are safe, and money is not sent due to Fraud. For example, there is no way to send money to Confidence quickly, as all transactions are researched and can take 5-10 days. Confidence might ask for a large portion of the deposit upfront, and possibly sent to his Ghana account, but this is to insure he can use the money to reserve activities. As an accountant, I am happy to explain why this exists, and Confidence can share my contact information with you.

I had such a good time, I will be doing a week in Ghana with Confidence next year!

Confidence is one of the best guides I have employed anywhere in the world.  I found him to be knowledgeable, honest, trustworthy, entirely reliable and always willing to fine tune my adult son's and my intricate custom tour, to meet our particular needs.  Beyond that, he's a charming guy with a quick sense of humor, which we appreciated.  This tour was to 6 West African countries, which did not include Nigeria.  In fact, I think Confidence hadn't been in two of them before.  But he made all the necessary local inquiries to make sure the trip came off flawlessly.  I would recommend Confidence to anyone who wants to visit West Africa to learn, in depth, about the region's history and various cultures.

Confidence is punctual, professional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, funny, and surrounds himself with good people who will become your friends and will take care of you. I got very sick from bad food that I didn't warm up and Confidence stayed by my side through most of the night and helped succor me back to health. His drivers and assistant guides are well-vetted. I also took a trip to Liberia a year ago through Confidence's company, which had ups and downs but was still worth it. Confidence is straightforward and arrow straight. He's a man of faith and it shows. Confidence gets my highest recommendations and we will do business many more times, as he operates from Senegal east to Nigeria and has contacts in other places too. His English is standard and cannot be misunderstood. He's educated and as pursuing post-grad degress now. Hire this guide NOW!

I was with the guide Confidence in Nigeria, proved to be a good connoisseur of the local culture, showed concern to meet all my expectations.  I recommend.

For over three weeks, Confidence steered my journey around many of the cities and towns in the southern third of Nigeria and to Accra and its suburbs.  My trip was in part a personal pilgramage in which I revisited places I had visted 40 years ago! It was also an intenstive research project for a book I am writing about the Nigerian Civil War.  My research required visting many somewhat obscure sites, and interviewing people from many walks of life. Confidence comprehended the significance of my complex needs and was integrally involved in helping me revise my intial plan into a feasible and ultimately successful tour.  Confidence was enthusiastic about my project, and was an imporant souce of substantiave information about West African, past and present.  He had a longstanding working relationship with the driver, who was not only a keen eye for safety and a firm hand on the wheel over difficult terrain, but was also well educated and well informed, and very importantly,  he worked very effectively with Confidence in managing the routine hassles that come up on an extended road trip.  Confidence was able to access collegues throughout the region to provide information  or local contacts that greately enhanced my research and my enjoyment as a tourist. These gentlemen had to contend with me as a older man with acute sciatic pain.  They accomodated my needs around this condition, and were responsive to my preferences regarding lodging, food, etc. Confidence was in every way flexible, adaptive, and and focused on my goals and needs.  I very much look forward to having another West Africa tour handled by Confidence and the team he has assembled.

I had an absolute incredible time with Confidence in Lome. He picked me up at the given time from my accommodation in Lome to proceed with city tour. It was lovely, knowledgable and detailed tour of Lome. We visited Independence Square, had a drive around Lome, slave house and trade of slaves, vooddoo fetish market, and walk over nice beach in Lome. Confidence is wonderful guy and great tour guide. He provides tours not only in Togo but in Ghana, Nigeria, Benin and Monrovia. If you are looking for professional tour guide specializing in West Africa do not hesitate to contact and hire Confidence with confidence to show you around.

  • Matin

I needed a high level of flexibility during my trip as I usually tend to make last minute plans. Confidence provided full support and always made sure everything is plausible.  He and his team were always on-time which was a big plus.

I'll definitely hire him on my next trip to West Africa!

I made the right choice to ask Confidence to organize my first trip ever to beautiful Nigeria!

Confidence assisted me from before the departure with Visa hassles (not that easy to get in Nigeria!), brough me around unique and magical places.

    > I explored the brutality of the Slave trade with a visit to Badagry slave port

    > I opened myself to the ancient spirituality of the Yoruba religion by means of a magical 1 day trip at the sacred Groove of Osun (wear closed shoes! :-) )

    > Confidence assist me in the negotiation in restaurant, money exchange, and the Craft Market (you CANNOT leave Nigeria before stopping at the Lagos Craft MARKET!!)

    > We relaxed at Tarkwa bay, ate delicious Croaker BBQ Fish and endulget in a couple of freshly brewed PALM WINE (let Confidence choose for you!)

DO NOT HESITATE TO VISIT NIGERIA. Friendly and beatutiful country. Entrance burocracy was worth.  Thanks to COnfidence and Kingsley for the great experience. I'll be back.

Naija (Nigeria in Slang) stay in my heart <3

This past week The Males Place, 21 people, had the pleasure of working with Mr. Confidence team. They were excellent! They went out of their way to ensure our kids were comfortable and aware  of Ghana's key points of interest. Our travel agency, Binti World Travel of Charlotte, NC will use him again.

  • jason

My first trip to Ghana was phenomenal w/ the guidance of Confidence & Evans, especially traveling with twenty other people (12 of them being adolescent males). Their expertise, ability to be creative & spontaneous, and overall professionalism made the experience that much more meaningful and life-changing. When myself and/or The Males Place schedule a return trip to West Africa, Condidence will be the first person to call. #JourneyToGhana2018
