Description

Embark on this adventure tour to explore Sossusvlei, a salt and clay ‘pan’ surrounded by five million-year-old dunes in the Namib Desert's southern part. From Windhoek, arrive at Sossusvlei to marvel at the wonderful Deadvlei and Dune 45. Also, pay a visit to the magnificent Sesriem Canyon located in the deserts of Namib-Naukluft Park.

  • Day 1- Windhoek - Sesriem expand_more

    • You will be collected from your guesthouse/ hotel between 7h30 and 8h00. 

    • Once all the formalities are concluded, we will drive towards Sesriem, which is the main entrance to the Namib Naukluft National Park.

    • Depending on the time of booking and the availability of space, we will be inside the National Park to access the pre-dawn start the following morning.

  • Day 2- Big Daddy Dune expand_more

    • Depending on the booking date and availability of space inside the park, we will have a pre-dawn to catch the sunrise from on top of dune 45. This is one of the main highlights of why people travel across the globe to come and experience it. 

    • After exploring Dune 45, we will continue to the mystic magical Deadvlei area. 

    • If the time and weather allow here, you can climb big daddy which is the highest dune for the vicinity towering about 290 m above the floor of the dried out pan.

    • After exploring the area we will head back to our place of accommodation to escape the hit of the day. 

    • In the afternoon we will visit the Sesriem canyon to conclude our visit to the park.

  • Day 3- Sesriem - Windhoek expand_more

    • On the last day, we will drive back to Windhoek via scenic roads to enjoy the landscape.

What to bring
  • If camping, a torch, towel and comfortable shoes are essential. Sun lotion and a good hat are important to keep the sun out of your face.
Know before you go
  • Be aware of the season and time you are travelling. Deserts can be cold at night and warm during the day therefore, the activities are scheduled to start at pre-dawn before sunrise to enjoy the cool of the morning and late afternoons to avoid the head of the day.
