Visit this country in Southeast Europe for magnificent nature, mountains, great wine, warm hospitality and cultural heritage. One can see the Mustafa - Pasha Mosque,  St. Spas church, St. Panteleymon monastery, Matka Canyon, St. Gorgi church, Prilep market and other attractions as well.

DAY 01

Skopje city tour + Mountain Vodno

  • We start with the tour of the Kale Fortress, which is the oldest populated part of the Skopje basin. This place is said to have a wonderful panoramic view to the new part of the city and also that of the renovated football national stadium, the US Embassy etc. Then, continue to the old bazaar, one of the largest in the Balkans.

  • Next, we will visit the Mustafa - Pasha Mosque, the church of St. Spas( The Holy Salvation) and Kapan Han (caravanserai). From here, we continue to the square of “Karposevo vostanie"(Karpos Uprising Square) where we have the opportunity to see the new monuments, the Archaeological Museum of the Republic of Macedonia, the Museum of the Holocaust and the new Theater Building.  Going across the stone bridge, we will continue to the central square and see the monument of Alexander the Great.

  • Next, we will visit the memorial house of the world famous humanist and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Mother Teresa.

  • Finish the city tour at the former railway station, which is today's Museum of this city of Skopje. Enjoy some free time then.

  • Around noon, we will go to the monastery of St. Panteleymon ( around 8 km from Skopje) that dates from the middle of the 12th century during the Byzantine Empire.

  • In the afternoon, our tour continues to the highest point near Skopje, the Vodno mountain. We will go to the place called "Sredno (Middle) Vodno" with our transport. From there, we will continue with a cable car to the top of the mountain and the place where the highest cross in Europe is situated.

  • In the late afternoon, we will return to the hotel in Skopje.

DAY 02

Canyon Matka – Mavrovo Lake - Monastery of “St. Jovan Bigorski”(St. John the Baptist) – Monastery of “St. Gorgi Pobedonosec” (St. Gorgi the Victorious) – village Vevchani – Struga - Ohrid

  • After breakfast, we depart to a magical place - the Matka Canyon (15 km from the center of Skopje). The place is known as the natural habitat of many endemic species of butterflies, underwater caves and churches from the XII - XIV century, and it is also a heaven for rock and mountain climbers. Sailing with a boat through artificial accumulation to the deepest underwater cave (Vrelo Cave) in Europe is optional,  From here, we will continue to the western part of the country and drive along the most picturesque terrain in Macedonia, along the rivers Radika and Crn Drim.

  • Next stop is our second most visited monastery in Macedonia, "St. Jovan Bigorski "(St. John the Baptist). We will visit the church and enjoy a small break in a cafe restaurant below the monastery. Continue on to the female monastery of "St. Gorgi Pobedonosec" (St. Gorgi the Victorious) in the Rajcica village on the shores of the Debar Lake. This monastery is an unique place where the famous Mitras (decorated hats that the bishops wore during the liturgy) for the whole Christian world are made.

  • In the afternoon, we continue to Vevcani, the village known for the oldest carnival in these areas. See the Vevcani springs, the masters of the mason crafts and taste some excellent home-made, traditional food.

  • In the late afternoon, we head to Ohrid. Accommodation in a hotel in Ohrid where dinner and overnight stay will be done.

* Driving time: Skopje - Matka 20 min .; Matka - St. Jovan Bigorski 1 hour and 40 min.; St. Jovan Bigorski - Rajcica 20 min .; Rajcica - Vevcani 50 min.; Vevcani - Ohrid 30 min.

DAY 03

Monastery of Saint Naum + Ohrid City tour Overnight in Ohrid, SouthWest Macedonia

  • After breakfast, we go to the most visited monastery complex in our country, the monastery of “St. Naum”, built at the end of the IX century, nearby the border area with Albania. Visit the church with an opportunity for optional cruising in a boat in one of the most protected ecological areas - the area where the most powerful springs of Ohrid Lake and the river Crn(Black) Drim are located. Enjoy some free time.

  • Around noon, we will return to Ohrid Lake and start with a walking tour in the old part of the city. The gallery of Icons, the imposing Samuil's Fortress, the Antique Theater, St. Clement monastery on Plaosnik, the cathedral church of St. Sofia(XI cent.) etc. are only part of the richness offered by the old part of Ohrid and which will be part of our agenda.

  • At the end of the half-day walking tour, we will visit the craft workshop where the original Ohrid Pearls are on sale and we will hear the story of how their work had began. Spend free time at the center for viewing the bazaar or do a boat ride along the Ohrid lake.

  • In the afternoon, we will go towards the Kalista village near the Macedonian - Albanian border.

  • The next stop is the city of Struga. The area where Crn(Black) Drim flows out of Ohrid Lake and continues with it's course. The Park of Poetry, the Natural Science Museum and main walking street will be on our schedule list.

  • In the late afternoon, we return to the hotel in Ohrid for dinner and overnight stay.

* Driving time: Ohrid - St. Naum 25 min .; Ohrid - Kalista 25 min .; Struga - Ohrid 15 min.

DAY 04

Galicica national park+ Prespa Lake + Bitola city tour Overnight in Bitola, SouthWest Macedonia

  • Our first stop on this day will be the water museum "Bay of Bones", a complex where a replica of the houses is built on platforms over the lake between the XII and VII century BC. Around noon, through the Galicica National Park , we continue to Prespa Lake. In the Podmocani village, we will have the opportunity to look at a private museum of folk costumes with over 500 different men's and mostly women's folk costumes from all over the country. Only a few kilometers from Podmocani is the village of Kurbinovo, where we will visit the church of St. Gorgi (XII century) in which the first signs of the Renaissance and the famous fresco "The Angel of Kurbinovo" were found. There will be free time for coffee break on the shores of Prespa Lake.

  • In the afternoon, we will arrive in Bitola. We will visit the archaeological site of Heraclea Lyncestis, just 2 km from today's center of Bitola, a city built during the time of Philip II, with the greatest rise in the period of the Roman Empire.

  • Accommodation in a hotel in the center of Bitola for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 05

Bitola walking tour + Krushevo city tour + Prilep

  • We start with a walking tour of Bitola. The city with the richest history and culture in the Republic of Macedonia, also recognizable as the “City of Consuls”. After the visit of the City Museum (in XIX cent place where Mustafa Kemal Ataturk graduated in the high military school), we continue along the most famous pedestrian zone, the street “Shirok Sokak”, to the symbol of Bitola - Clock Tower (XIX century). Two mosques from the 16th century, the old bazaar and the city market will be only part of what we will see and visit.

  • There will be some free time for coffee / shopping. Around noon, we continue to Krushevo, a city located at 1250 m above sea level. The first destination is the “Makedonium” monument, located in the highest part of the city where the eternal resting place of the president of the first Republic of the Balkans - Dame Gruev is located.

  • Next stop on our tour will be the Memorial House of our great artist, singer and above all a humanist, the unique and the unforgettable Tose Proeski. In the center, we will visit the city bazaar, the church of “St. Nikola” and several workshops. 

  • After lunch, we continue to Prilep. Here, we will visit the tobacco museum for it's incredible stories and objects related to "yellow gold" in this part of Europe. Do a walk in the center of the city.

  • Accommodation in a hotel in Prilep; dinner and overnight stay.

* Driving time: Bitola - Krusevo 1 hour; Krushevo - Prilep 40 min

DAY 06

Prilep + wine region + Kolesino and Smolare waterfalls + Strumica

  • We start visiting the rich Prilep market in the very center of the old bazaar. The open market is rich with products of organic origin, different smells and is usually very busy in bazaar days. From here, we continue to the central part of Macedonia, the region where the best quality wine from the Balkans is produced. We visit a wine cellar where we listen to the story of the way and the tradition about wine making and tasting of different products.

  • Around noon, we will head to the far south of the country to visit one of the most powerful and highest waterfalls in the country - the Kolesino and Smolare waterfalls.

  • Later in the afternoon, we continue to Strumica where we can accommodate in a hotel. Do a short walk around Strumica.

  • Dinner and overnight stay in Strumica.

* Driving time: Prilep - wine region 50 min .; wine region - waterfalls 1 hour and 30 minutes; Waterfalls - Strumica 30 min.

DAY 07

Monasteries in Vodoca and Veljusa + Stip + Monastery “St. Joakim Osogovski” Final Destination – Skopje

  •  The last day will be reserved for visiting two monasteries near Strumica, the monasteries in the villages of Vodoca and Veljusa, a few kilometars from Strumica.

  • Around noon, we continue to the eastern part of Macedonia. First we will stop at Stip, the city under the Isar. Enjoy some free time for city sightseeing and then get an opportunity for tasting the famous local specialty - “Pastrmajlija” from Stip.

  • In the afternoon, we will visit the Osogovo Monastery, near Kriva Palanka. Built in the 12th century, the monastery is dedicated to Joakim Osogovski and it represents one of the largest and most impressive in this part of our country.

  • In the late afternoon, we return to Skopje.
