From the beach to the park, this breathtaking environment is a nature-lovers dream!

  • Admire the magnificent Baobab Trees
  • Explore the Bemaraha National Park
  • Go on a morning canoe trip on the Manambolo River
  • Day 1: Antananarivo to Morondava expand_more
    • Arrive in the seaside town of Morondava.
    • After checking into your beachfront accommodation, go for a walk around the town or stroll along the beach.
    • In the evening, seek out a local restaurant for a barbecue dinner.
  • Day 2: Morondava to Bekopaka expand_more
    • After an early start, travel to the Avenue of the Baobabs to watch the sunrise. These magnificent trees are often referred to as the ‘Tree of Life’ as, during the wet season, they absorb water and store it in their trunks.
    • Afterwards, travel to Bekopaka, the gateway to the Bemaraha National Park.
  • Day 3: Tsingy De Bemaraha National Park expand_more
    • Enjoy an early breakfast and then head into the Big Tsingy in the Bemaraha National Park. A series of imposing limestone shards appear to grow out of the ground like a stone forest, so it’s no surprise that tsingy translates to ‘walking on tiptoes’.
    • Spend the day exploring the park, keeping an eye out for lemurs – there are 11 different species here – and be sure to get a bird’s-eye-view of the tsingys from the hanging bridges.
  • Day 3: Tsingy De Bemaraha National Park expand_more
    • Explore the Manambolo River on a morning canoe trip and then hike around the Small Tsingy.
    • Climb through karst pinnacles to get to the impressive viewpoints across the park.
  • Day 5: Return to Morondava expand_more
    • Return to Morondava in time to see the sunset at the Baobab Alley.
    • In the evening, perhaps head to a beachfront restaurant for a farewell dinner with your travelling companions.
  • Day 6: Final Departure expand_more
    • Final departure from Morondava.

Claude and Erik from Korobo Tours were both great guides - fluent English and tonnes of knowledge about the culture of the area. We travelled from Fort Dauphin to Tulear by taxi-brousse, stopping on the way for a cultural experience in a village where we got to dance with a witch doctor and cook traditional Malagasy food. Once in Tulear, we visited Mangily, snorkelling on the protected reef and visiting the baobabs. It was an amazing trip which Claude and Erik organised very well and we learnt so much more about the local customs because they were with us. They were both very friendly with a great sense of humour and made great travel buddies as well as guides! I would highly recommend Korobo Tours for anyone wanting to experience Malagasy culture first hand!
