    • Take a short walk to Pastéis de Belém, a historic pastry shop. Enjoy the famous Pastéis de Nata, delicious custard tarts that have been made here since 1837, at your own expense.
    • Head towards the Belém Tower, another UNESCO World Heritage site. Admire this iconic fortress built in the 16th century and enjoy the scenic views of the Tagus River.
    • Continue to the Padrão dos Descobrimentos (Monument to the Discoveries). Marvel at the impressive sculpture dedicated to the Age of Discovery and its prominent figures.
    • Walk along the riverfront to the Museu de Arte, Arquitetura e Tecnologia (MAAT), and also see the National Coach Museum, which houses one of the world's most significant collections of royal coaches. 
    • End the tour at Mercado da Praça do Império. The market offers a variety of fresh produce, local products, and traditional Portuguese food items. It's a great place to experience the vibrant atmosphere and taste some delicious local treats.

    The Monastery of Saint Jerome and the Tower of Belem are stunning examples of Manueline art and the history behind them is truly fascinating. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and shared many interesting stories with us. The Monument of the Discoveries was also a great addition to the tour.
