Explore the beauty of the kingdom of South Morocco. Follow the ancient caravan route over valleys and gorges of the Middle Atlas Mountains, to pass through extensive palm groves and cedar forests that are home to Barbary apes. Visit the world's largest film studio and a fossil workshop, enjoy a camel trek in the Erg Chebbi dunes, and spend time in welcoming Berber villages.

Day 1: Marrakech – Telouet – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate expand_more
Depart in the morning towards the High Atlas, Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260m altitude) and the Kasbah of Telouet (visit the Kasbah of Pacha Glaoui) with lunch.
Travel through the ancient caravan route to visit the Ksar of Ait Benhaddou in the Ounila Valley, dotted with small Berber villages.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Skoura – Kellat M’Gouna – Rose Valley – Dades Gorge expand_more
In the morning depart from Ouarzazate to visit Atlas Movie Studios, the world's largest film studio by acreage, and the Kasbah Taourirt.
Set off towards the extensive palm grove of Skoura on the Route of 1000 Kasbahs (with a visit to the famous Kasbah Amredhyle).
By road from Kalaa M’gouna, cross the Rose Valley and return to the Dades Valley to Kasbah Ait Youl.
Night in a hotel.

Day 3: Dades Gorge – Boumalne – Tinghir – Todra Gorge – Tinjdad – Touroug – Erfoud – Merzouga expand_more
After breakfast, depart towards Tinghir and Boumalne at the foot of the impressive palm groves and plantations.
Drive to Tinjedad for lunch and visit Touroug palm trees plantations. Stop in the village of Erfoud to visit a fossil workshop. Continue to the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the famous Merzouga dunes.
Start a camel ride to the middle of the dunes, to spend the night in Berber tents.
Dinner and overnight in Nomad camp.

Day 4: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi – Merzouga expand_more
After breakfast, there will be an extraordinary camel journey through the dunes of Merzouga. You pass the nomad settlements, Khamliya village (village of Gnawa) mines, the desert plateaus where nomads and Berbers of the desert gather.
Afternoon free.
Dinner and stay at the hotel.

Day 5: Merzouga – Erfoud – Errachidia – Midelt – Azrou – Ifrane – Fes expand_more
Have breakfast and depart towards Erfoud, passing Errachidia and the Ziz Valley.
Cross Midelt for lunch and go towards Fez.
Through forests of cedar, we reach the Middle Atlas. This entire mountain region is very beautiful and is known for its amazing landscapes.

Prices quoted are per person, based on sharing a twin room/2 person tent (unless otherwise stated). Additional hotel or riad nights after the trek from 25 EUR p.p. twin/35 EUR single.
