Immerse in Laos’ beautiful culture at these cities with visits to cities’ revered temples. Walk through ancient temples and cruise along the Mekong River. Indulge in Laos and French cuisines and get a unique chance to participate in a Lao tradition - ‘Baci’.

DAY 01

Arrival - Luang Prabang

  • Be greeted with a VIP welcome upon arrival at Luang Prabang with a hassle-free, fast-tracked immigration clearance, followed by a private car transfer to the hotel.

  • After checking in at the hotel, embark on a brief tour of Luang Prabang. 

  • Climb 328 steps to the top of Mount Phousi just before sunset and take in the stunning panoramic view of the city and surrounding hills.

  • Descend from Mount Phousi and stroll through a nearby evening market filled with beautiful hill tribe souvenirs and handicrafts.

  • Go to the L’Elephant for dinner, one of the finest restaurants in Luang Prabang, before the drive back to the hotel.

DAY 02

Luang prabang art & culture tour

Optional: 

  • At 5:30 am, rise up before dawn to watch the tranquil activity of monks collecting alms. As the sun begins to rise, long lines of orange-robed monks walk barefoot down the streets collecting offerings from Luang Prabang residents. 

  • Return to the hotel for breakfast.

  • Visit the historical old town beginning in the fresh market. Accompanied by your Lao guide, walk through rows of stalls selling everything from fresh produce to local delicacies.

  • Next, visit the former Royal Palace, now the National Museum. This site is filled with art, artifacts and jewellery and offers an insight into the rich history and culture of the country.

  • Continue the tour of Luang Prabang by visiting some of the city’s famous temples. Start at Wat Visoun, home to the famous ‘watermelon’ stupa, before visiting Wat Aham, which houses an altar dedicated to the two guardian spirits of Luang Prabang.

  • Enjoy lunch at Tamarind, one of the top local restaurants in Luang Prabang (Note: Closed on Sundays).

  • This afternoon head to Ock Pop Tok to discover more about textiles in Laos, learning about their history, production and cultural significance.

  • Take a break at TAEC Café, located inside the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Center (TAEC). Take a tour of the TAEC to learn about Laos ethnic groups.

  • Learn to cook Lao cuisine at a cooking class led by a renowned local chef. The cooking course is a fun, hands-on way to learn about the ingredients involved and techniques used to create local cuisine.

  • Sit down and enjoy the delicious meal prepared and recreate them with a take-home recipe book.

DAY 03

  • Venture to Luang Prabang’s peninsula where the Mekong and Nam Khan Rivers merge. The beautiful Wat Xieng Thong impresses with golden gates, intricate ornaments and colorful murals.

  • Board a traditional long trail boat in luxury private Mekong cruise. Enjoy your relaxing cruise on the Mekong River. Located upstream from Luang Prabang are the Pak Ou Caves. Locally called Tam Ting, the site has thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues crammed into two caves carved out of a limestone cliff. The boat stops at the foot of beautiful limestone cliffs for lunch will be set up as a picnic romantic style on the riverbank it is considering by your specialist guide before continuing the cruise back downstream. DAY 05

  • Start the day with a visit to the 16th century That Luang, the holiest site in Laos. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city after climbing the stairs to the top of Patuxai, Vientiane’s own ‘Arc de Triomphe’. 

  • Visit the serene Wat Sisaket, one of the most beautiful temples in the capital, before reaching Wat Phra Keo. As a religious museum, Wat Phra Keo displays a collection of both Lao and Khmer works of art.

  • Enjoy lunch today at L'adresse de Tinay, a French-style bistro run and managed by a French owner. The food is delicious home-style French cuisine with immaculate plating that is both a feast for the eyes and stomach. (Note: Closed on Sundays)

  • Spend the afternoon at leisure to shop, sightsee or enjoy a traditional Lao massage.

  • For the final evening in Laos, experience one of their oldest traditions: ‘Baci’. The purpose of ‘Baci’ is to ‘call back’ escaped spirits to the body for good luck. It is carried out before major events such as weddings, births, travel, welcoming friends and farewells.

  • Enjoy dinner at Makphet Restaurant for modern Lao cuisine. Makphet is a charity-run restaurant that supports street children by providing them with training and a job at the restaurant.

  • Electricity: 220V. We recommend you to bring the universal plug adaptor

  • Climate: Laos is 2 season country wet and dry season, Wet start between May – October and Dry start in between November – April. The wet season is green beautiful but less convenience for travel overland across the city to city due to landslide issued, but recommend travel by flight. The dry season is the best time for travel but nature is gray because dry also temperature common drop to 12 – 15 degree cuicis at night and 18 – 25 during the day.

  • Clothing & What to pack: comfortable, casual, lightweight clothing in the natural fabric is more suitable for traveling to Laos. Bring warm clothing during the cold season as mention the above months, if visit the northern Laos dress modestly not wear shorts, miniskirts, tank top and any fashion showing chest when you enter to the national visiting sight include temple and national museum otherwise you need to pay some cash to rent and dress up before entering to this sightseeing.
