Spend a week in Laos and get nourished with spiritual calm, peace and nature vibes. Explore these major cities and make stops at several popular landmarks such as the Xiengkhoung, Ban Muangkeo village, Kuangsi waterfalls and lots more. 

DAY 01

Vientiane arrival day

  • Meet on arrival and you will be welcomed to Vientiane, the city of the moon – an ancient city, situated on the bend on the left bank of the Mekong river. This is also the largest city and the capital of Laos.

  • Transfer to hotel for check-in.

  • In the afternoon, spend your time at leisure.

DAY 02

Vientiane - Xiengkhoung

  • After breakfast, we start the Treasure of Laos 7 Days tour by discovering Vientiane, with a visit to the religious museums of Wat Sisaket, the oldest temple to have been survived from the Siamese war of 1828. Its cloister contains more than 8000 Buddha statues.  Wat Ho Prakeo, the former home-temple of the Emerald Buddha statue or PraKeo today contains a collection of Buddha statues, antiques and all artifacts found in around Vientiane. 

  • See the That Luang Stupa, the single most important monument in Laos, which was built to cover the original small stupa containing a piece of the chest bone of Buddha.

  • Head to see Patouxay (Arch de Triumph), built quite recently in commemoration of those who died during the wars in the past and it is today as the landmark of.

  • Transfer to Wattay airport for departure to Xieng Khouang. We arrive in Xieng Khouang, the province which is best-known for having been heavily bombed during the Indochina War, apart from the famous historic Plain of Jars. Get transferred for a brief city tour around the town before checking in at a hotel.

DAY 03

Explore Xiengkhoung

  • Following breakfast, we drive (10 km SE of Phonesavanh) to the Plain of Jars, the archaeological stone site, which dates backs at least 2000 years ago. Continue to visit the Plain of Jars (site 2).

  • En-route, visit villages of a Hmong minority group, where we can learn more about their housing, living and working conditions which are completely different from others.

  • In the afternoon, we drive to Muang Khoune, the old capital of Xieng Khouang, which was heavily damaged during the war, but there are still some former French settlements and hospital to be seen as well as the damaged famous temple of Wat Phia Wat.

DAY 04

Xiengkhoung plain of jars - Luang prabang

  • After breakfast, we will take a long trip by road about 6 hours from Xieng Khouang, passing by highlands through beautiful nature and scenic views to Luang Prabang, the ancient first capital of Lane Xang kingdom, the center of religious life in Laos, and today a World Heritage City.

  • Arrive at Luang Prabang in the late afternoon and check in at hotel here.

DAY 05

Private mekong cruise - visit 4000 buddha cave

  • Following breakfast, we depart hotel to the boat area and take an excursion (a few hours) by boat, upstream on the Mekong River to visit Pak Ou Cave in the side of a limestone cliff and opposite of the mouth of the Mekong and Ou Rivers. The sanctuaries at Pak Ou consist of two large caves, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images, which range from mere centimeter to two meters in height.

  • En route, Lao typical villages are barely visible behind a screen of foliage. Slender canoes bobbing by the shore, bamboo poles and floats mark the location of nets and fish traps.

  • Stop at Ban Muangkeo, a well-known village for Lao traditional rice whisky. We are welcome to taste it and also take away.

  • Lunch will be at a riverside restaurant.

  • Arrive back at Luang Prabang in the late afternoon, and continue by car to the outskirt of town to visit Ban Xang Khong, a well-known village for its wood paper making and also Lao silk weavings with natural dyes.

DAY 06

Explore wild and Kuangsi waterfall

  • After breakfast, we take a drive (30 km South) to visit Kuangsi Waterfalls, which, though not very high, is spectacular and really beautiful with its green surroundings as the preserved National Park.

  • Stop en-route, to visit a fresh produced market namely Talad Phosy and also visit Ban Na Oune, a small village of a hill-tribe group “Hmong”, probably the best-known minority group in Laos. Just before arriving at Kuangsi waterfall, there is another village of Khmu minority group, namely Ban Tha Pane that we will visit.

  • Our picnic lunch is served at the shady park near Kuangsi waterfall. There is plenty of time for relaxing and a swim in cool water before we head back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. The rest of the day is spent by visiting various craft-shops, including silversmiths’ and also Hmong market in town, where some skilled embroidery-works of Hmong ladies can be seen.

DAY 07

Luang prabang - departure

  • After breakfast, we depart hotel to visit the National Museum, the former Royal Palace which houses the collection of valuables including the famous Prabang Buddha statue, gifts received from foreign dignitaries etc. 

  • If time permits, the rest of the day is spent free for own experience in this charming town, till transfer to Luang Prabang airport for departure to next destination.

  • Currency: Lao Kip, Laos is wildly accepted Thai Bath and USD in almost everywhere but during your trip in Laos we recommend you buy small amount of local money because most of all the local product cost in middle of a dollar, all international smart card are accepted by most bank in Laos when you withdraw cash the ATM only pay you in local kip and 20,000kip or 2, 5 USD is automatic deducted by bank per one transaction as the bank fee for purchase product by Credit card, Master Card, American Express Card and other smart card is widely accepted only in big shop, international restaurant and Hotel

  • Electricity: 220V. We recommend you to bring the universal plug adaptor

  • Climate: Laos is 2 season country wet and dry season, Wet start between May – October and Dry start in between November – April. The wet season is green beautiful but less convenient for travel overland across the city to city due to landslide issued, but recommend travel by flight. The dry season is the best time for travel but nature is gray because dry also temperature common drop to 12 – 15 degree cuicis at night and 18 – 25 during the day.

  • Mobile phone & internet: 3G & 4G and SIM card is widely available but separately between day SIM card and Internet SIM Card, to make a phone call within country 850Kip/MN, international call 2.000kip/MN, Internet Data connection & Wifi only available in the city and hotel.

  • Shipping: Laos post office provides several options for shipping service include sea ship and airship but we recommend to use airship it is taking for 14 days to any international destination by DHL.

  • Visa: Most Visitors can obtain Lao visa on arrival at all international door or check in point include border and airport, visa valid for 30 days. Visa also possible to obtain at any Laotian embassy in your and foreign country, your passport must be valid for six months prior return date and 2 color passport photo required.

  • Clothing & What to pack: comfortable, casual, lightweight clothing in the natural fabric is more suitable for traveling to Laos. Bring warm clothing during the cold season as mention the above months, if visit the northern Laos dress modestly not wear shorts, miniskirts, tank top and any fashion showing chest when you enter to the national visiting sight include temple and national museum otherwise you need to pay some cash to rent and dress up before entering to this sightseeing.

  • Cuisine: Lao food mixed spy or hot, fresh strong flavors and variety of vegetable into exotic cuisine, Laap is finely chopped meat such as fish, chicken, pork or beef mixed with minced, spring onion, garlic, over ten kinds of ingredient and herbs it is claimed to be the national dish.

  • Water: tap water only for wash and use not for drink, always drink the bottled water which provided in your room by the hotel and during the tour by the guide, driver.

  • Health: travelers should be inoculated against typhoid, cholera, hepatitis, A & B, tetanus and polio. Malaria and dengue fever are presently decreased in Laos but it is advisable to take precautions. Ti is essential to have good medical insurance that covers the cost of an evacuation flight.

  • Safety: Laos is generally one of the world’s peaceful and most safe country to visit though never leave your belongings unattended.

  • Tipping: most people work with a low salary so stay in tourism industry surviving from your tipping, it is not a specific indicated by culture or rules but they will be highly appreciated with your tips, we recommend tipping as international standard rules such as
