He was our tour guide on the Jordan leg of our Holy Land pilgrimage. He was very kind and knowledgable, besides having excellent communications skill in English. Would love to have him again as a guide if given a chance to do another pilgrimage.
It is our first time in Jordan in October last year. We were a part of a group of 30 ++ filipnos who joined the Holy Land Pilgrimage. From Nebo, Madaba, Tabor, Petra, we were treated with a glimpse of history of Jordan, it's people, culture and traditions. Kudos to our guide, Raed Haddad whose knowlege , expertise, and professionalism has made our Jordan visit a truly memorable one. Looking forward to be back soon. Hope we could find time to "shoot" together...
Raed was our guide for the Amman Citadel, Mount Nebo, Shobak Castle - Montreal, and Petra. We were a family of 4.
Raed was extremely knowledgeable. Not only did he know the history, he was able to discuss in depth the Jordanian culture and politics. His english is impeccable. He was able to answer every question we threw at him. He also was able to tie biblical references to historic events that makes you think about what you know a little differently.
I would recommend him to anyone! He was very accommodating to anything we wanted to change or needed help with.
This is our SECOND tour with Mr. Raed Haddad. Last year he guided a small group we were in through Petra and Wadi Rum in the summer of 2016. My husband and I were so impressed with Raed and with Jordan that we scheduled 4 amazing days in the North of Jordan in the summer (July) of 2017. We learned so much from Mr. Haddad in history, theology, sociology, art, philosophy and much more. Raed was always punctual, professional, scholorly, friendly and compassionate. His passion for Jordan is absolutely contagious. Lord willing, we plan to come back within the next 18 months for more adventures. We highly, highly recommend Raed to anyone that wants a first class, entertaining and informative tour of Jordan.
Raed Haddad led a tour I had the honor of attending in October of 2016. He was knowledgeable, intelligent and articulate. I appreciate that he tailored his presentations to match the interests of our group. It was also wonderful that he allowed us to get to know him through late night conversations under the stars in the Wadi Rum, or over a cocktail before dinner. He shared his experiences of growing up in Jordan, and his lifelong connection to holy places. Our group was interested in Biblical sites (Jesus' baptism site, the site of the beheading of John the Baptist, the location where Moses looked out over the Promised Land) and Raed's depth of knowledge about these subjects was profound. He also showed us popular secular sites such as Petra, the Dead Sea and the Wadi Rum. His knowledge of these sites and their history is unparalleled and his passion comes through in his lectures. He is the consummate tour guide because everywhere we went, he was recognized and respected by fellow guides and site wardens. We felt like we were VIPS because we were with Raed Haddad. I whole heartedly reccomend Raed Haddad for your Jordanian tour.
Raed was chosen by the Jordanian Tourism Board to guide our small group of religious writers for a 10 day tour of the holy sites (and sights) in Jordan back around Easter, 2015. His encyclopedic knowledge of history, scripture, and his in depth knowledge of the geography of his country, coupled with his love for people, puts him at the top of the list of tour guides for this area. You will not regret hiring him, but you may regret not hiring him. Do what the JTB does: hire Raed!
My (now) fiance planned this as a surprise trip and proposal. I had high expectations of finally seeing the place my parents and ancestors came from, and Ed made it all the more magical. He offered fascinating perspectives of both the history and current climate of Jordan. I couldn't believe how knowledgeable he was! As a plus, he's an amazing photographer. My fiance and I had an impromptu "engagement" shoot in Petra that are better than any photos we could have planned. I would recommend Ed to anyone who visits Jordan - he's the best!
I have been joining trips in many destinations, and it was my first time to visit the Jordan when Raed guided us. Admittedly, he is one of the best guides I have had so far. He is not only competent with the basics, he can bring his discussions to a deeper intellectual excursions. Undoubtedly, this is a product of serious preparation, professional experience, commitment to long-life learning, natural intelligence, unquenchable interest to share with others, proficient ability to communicate, passion for professional work, and even scholarly pursuits. He can bring to light details in a multi-disciplinal approach, able to forward his own views on matters with critical thought - indeed a breath of fresh air - but unintrusive as well as grounded on respect, open-mindedness and camaraderie.
Raed did a wonderful job of bringing to light the history of Jordan and all the little details of each site we visted. Raed's knowledge and delivery of information was impeccable and made the whole journey through time and amazing experience!
Raed was an absolutely incredible guide -- from his incredible knowledge of all the sites he took us to, to the amazing restaurants he hooked us up with, and his patient flexibility [ :) ], he made our trip to Jordan one of the absolute best. I highly recommend him, and hope to return to Jordan again and use his services.
Thanks a lot Raed for making our trip to Jordan a great success. The depth of your knowledge is really appreciable the way you apprised us about rich culture, heritage and history of Jordan, it made us curious to know more about it. It is the best travel experience of my life till now. I am really thankful to Jordan Tourism Board for choosing you as our guide. We found a great, helpful, supportive, humorous, caring and down to earth person in you. And not to forget a really awesome photographer who brought life to our Jordan pics and engraved our Jordan experience in our hearts forever.
Raed's expertise and dedication were evident from the first moment he spoke with our group. He is personable, engaged and committed to providing a memorable experience for his guests. I was impressed with not only his historical knowledge but his ability to share the culture and the beauty of the country and Jordanian people. All of this provided a deeper immersion into this amazing Holy Land.
I would like to thank Mr. Raed Haddad for making our visit in Jordan wonderful. His well-roundedness about the place and great communication skill made our experience to relive the existence of the events in that era. Truly, he is remarkable and highly recommendable.
Raed is amazing! If you are going to Jordan, Raed is the man you want with you. I have been to Jordan 4 times and he is by far the most friendly, educated, organized guide we've ever had. As a photographer and videographer it's really important for us to be at certain places when the lighting will be right so we don't miss the shot. Raed is also a photographer and helped us capture some of the best shots we've ever gotten. Raed will show you Jordan in a way no one else can, and you will have an amazing adventure together. I cannot recommend him strongly enough!
If you hire Raed Haddad to convey you through the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, be sure to bring a recording device. You will be getting the equaivelnt of an honors' seminar in the history of the Arabian peninsula, and you won't want to miss a thing. His knowledge on the subject is inexhaustible. Whether narrating the rise and fall of the Nabaetan kingdom or unpacking the long-range effects of the Arab victory at the Yarmuk, he fills tourists with the dizzying sense that they are treading atop millennia of civilization. Minus that perspective, a visit to the Holy Land is just a spell at Club Med with extra sand.
This isn't to say that Raed is a pedant or a know-it-all. God forbid. Personable, down-to-earth, sensitive to the limits of the occidental attention span, and above all fun, he's more like a scoutmaster with a long reading list and an uncanny memory. To say that his English is perfect would do it a disservice. Raed speaks exactly -- and I mean exactly -- like John Wayne. Although that can be a bit jarring when he takes you to Wadi Rum, recognizable from David Lean's epic Lawrence of Arabia, the general effect is of getting an unexpected and welcome reminder of home.
Since 2008, I have had the opportunity to visit Jordan on three different occasions. Each time, I was fortunate to have very good and very competent tour guides. My most recent trip took place in October. Raed Haddad led our group, which was comprised of religious writers and bloggers of all denominations and non-denominations. From the moment I met Raed, it was as if we had been lifelong friends. He was very warm and welcoming. His English is impeccable, which was very helpful because my previous guides were sometimes difficult to understand. Raed is very knowledgeable about Jordan and its rich history. He's also very patient, which is important when you're dealing with diverse groups of people, and goes out of his way to make every person in the group feel important. The best compliment that I can give Raed is that, when you first meet him, you think of him as your tour guide but, by the time you leave Jordan, you consider him to be your friend. He's a great ambassador for the Royal Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
