My husband and I travelled with Kasthuri for 2 weeks from the airport to Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella, Udawalawe, Tangalle, Mirissa and Hikkaduwa. He's a very good driver and we felt safe in the car at all times on crazy roads in Sri Lanka. He was always punctual and kept in contact at all times. 

We had to change our plans during the trip due to the corona virus spread prevention measures and it has been no problem for our driver, he's been very accommodating. Overall Kasthuri is a nice, caring person and nothing was too much trouble for him. 

There was more driving than 'guiding' on our tour though and I felt the knowledge and information about sites we travelled to could have been improved. The reason I decided to book the whole trip with one driver was that we'd be able to stop whenever and wherever and also to get expertise and guided tour of Galle for example. We've been able to stop where and when we wanted, but we didn't get any guided tours of any of the places we visited.  I was very clear on my itinerary the type of holiday we wanted, it was mainly nature and hiking with some beach time. We wanted to go to the Knuckles Mountains and other hiking destinations and we even clarified this when booking the tour, but on arrival it turned out that we can't do this with our driver and we had to book a separate tour with a naturalist, which cost us extra money. We also found ourselves getting tuk tuks here and there, as we only saw our driver every other day. 

Overall we enjoyed our trip, but next time we tour around Sri Lanka or other Asian countries, I will just book taxis between places. We prefer a freedom of changing the itinerary and not having to agree schedules and meeting times, and it's more cost effective. 

Kastro has been such a great guide, he's shown us some fantastic sights from Jaffna to Trinco, Ella to Yala. He's even safely put us on the train for a 5hrs journey to Jaffna equipped with breakfast and yummy biscuits. He takes care of his clients showing them respect whilst tailoring the journey to their often changing needs. He was always ready to give suggestions to improve parts of the  journey (listen to him but be honest with what you want ie. shopping or historical sites), please trust his choices from  accomodation to a recommended  crab curry in the menu.
