Virtual Mostar Tour From Home

Reviewed February 22, 2021

Thank you so much Mirko!

It was wonderful to see Mostar through Mirko's eyes. He has lots of knowledge as he is a local and has also studied the local history with his research when writing his book. We learnt lots of interesting facts and he was entertaining and had a great sense of humour. Mostar is beautiful and we got see so many beautiful spots  and hidden places. He showed us things that we were never shown when we were on a tour with another guide in Mostar 2019  (before the pandemic). A great way to see Mostar without the summer crowds. In the background you could hear Mostar life; metal smiths working on copper, call to prayer and see locals going about their daily lives. We hope to return to Mostar in the future and would choose Mirko as a guide. You can tell he has a deep emotional connection to the city, which really brings the tour alive.

Thank you!

Mirko Bozic's response to the review

February 22, 2021

Thank you for your kind response. I'm glad I could be of service and I try to go beyond what is usually offered in terms of a sequence of essential information about the city itself. In case you come back, make sure to let me know. If anything, we can share a drink at that little coffee shop ;)

Waste of time

Reviewed August 16, 2019

We booked a walking city tour of Mostar with Mirko. Communucation with Mirko was great right from the start. But when we met him in person, we were very dissapointed in him. Within first 15mins of our walk, one of my friends wallet was picked from the sack. Later on we came to know this is very common in Mostar. And I was amazed as he did not warn us about it. Then we went to the restaurant recommended by him. It was terrible, the ambience, the food, the service, the manager everything was horrible.  We had to eat there as he had already booked the table with them.

After the lunch our real tour started. He has no inside knowledge, no insights, we did not learn anything from him. We just walked through the streets and we had a stop over the bridge.  The information he gave could be found in any guide book. Then he left from there. We were very very disappointed. Actually, we did not like Mostar at all, firstly we had bad experience of pickpocketing and then his guiding skills left us with no knowledge about the city. Overall it was a waste of time and money.

City walking tour through Mostar focussed on history

Reviewed June 22, 2019

We booked a 1/2 day city walking tour with Mirko Bosic to take us through Mostar and learn about the history of the city.

The tour was definitely too short. 3 hours in total, which includes lunchtime I invited him to, so it was actually 2 hours and 20 minutes.

As for the content of the tour, it was restricted to the well known places of the old town. We did not learn anything new from him, the information he gave us can be found in any tourist guide about BiH. What we missed was insights on the recent history of the city, which was our main reason for visiting Mostar.

He is an interesting person, a writer himself, but if you're looking for a historical city your, Mirko is not your man .
