From the moment he picked me up at the hotel until he dropped me at the hotel, I enjoyed every moment with him. He has great knowledge of the country, on the culture, food, history, he knows everyone around... He is a great guide with a friendly and kind personality. He knows the best places, He does the best to help you out and show you around. I had a fantastic time, I can highly recommend him.

24 hours with Aung Zay

Reviewed March 7, 2018

Old Bagan was a notable highlight of our trip to Myanmar thanks to our local tour guide, Aung Zay (aungzayoldbagan@gmail.com). Born in Bagan and educated in Yangon, Aung Zay has excellent English and great familiarity not just with the attractions of Bagan but also with its residents and the daily life of the town. This was evident as our group of three fairly demanding sixty year old women friends, travelling together, packed a 24 hour itinerary that included Bagan at sunset, Bagan at sunrise, a fascinating visit to a monastery, a lacquer workshop, Ananda temple, and more. Aung Zay was friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and accommodating. We could not have seen so much, let alone experienced so much, without him!
